Ted Ginn up for trade?

What's it matter if Byrd is out a few weeks? We're not really throwing him the ball, or to Moore or Samuel all that much. Might as well wait for him to come back and hope he makes plays when he gets the chance.  I see some here wanting to unload Byrd but it doesn't hurt us to keep him when we aren't even throwing the ball that well right now.

I'm not sure there's any indication the Saints want to trade him, but even if there were, would they really trade him to a division rival they're going to see twice before the season's over?

And again, if they do, that sounds like one of those trades where they ask for four fingers, both nuts and an eye in return.

Yep... and it ain't like Ginn left on good terms.

But the Saints would never trade him to us, and especially since we are still going to play them twice before the end of the year.

If Byrd is going to be out long-term, this might be worth a trade. Could pick up punt/kick return duties and also replace Byrd and Torrey Smith. He's not a great receiver but he's faster than Torrey and Cam trusts him.

Offer them CAP for Ginn, straight-up.

Edit: And then cut Torrey.

Why would we trade anything of value for someone that doesn't want to play for us?

That bridge was already wobbly when he signed with the Saints, but it was basically lit on fire in the playoffs last season. He made how he felt about the Panthers pretty clear.

I don't know why these things surprise people. It's a business. You wouldn't want to stick it to your former employer if they didn't want to pay you what you felt you were worth and a competitor offered you more? Of course you would.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
