Panthers Beer is Cheap. (It has room to go cheaper)

The TEAM MARKETING REPORT website has compiled a list of the beer, hotdog, soda, and parking prices across all the NFL stadiums, and BOA isn't doing so badly in the beer department.

According to what they've found --

  • A 12oz beer at BOA is just $5.50 vs the $5 charged by the Falcons, Ravens, Texans, Lions, Cardinals, and Bengals.   The league average is $8.17 for a 16oz beer.  Most expensive is the 20oz in Oakland at $10.75.  (Everyone heading down to Tampa for CARvsTB will pay $10 for a 20oz)
  • But if you work it all out by the ounce, Panthers fans pay $0.46 per oz of beer, which isn't too far off the $0.42/oz at the low end.... and is significantly better than the $0.75/oz that Eagles fans pay for their 12oz beverage.  Stadium average is $0.52

Good news? It's better than most everybody else.

(No word on the wine and cheese plate pricing.)

Make your own like I do, drink before the game and save the money. Homemade tastes better too.

As a fellow home brew aficionado, It has not been my experience that home brew is cheaper. Quite the opposite.  I know I can buy craft beer cheaper but I enjoy the process of making and waiting for my brews.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
