I always wondered ..........

I've always wondered.

-Do you ever hear Rams fans say "We need to give Malcolm Brown more carries?"

-Do you ever hear Chargers fans say "Get Austin Ekler more touches?

-Do Steelers fans say "Jaylen Samuels is underutilized"

-Do Giants fans say "We're going to run Barkley into the ground. He needs to split touches with Wayne Gallman"

-Do Cowboys fans say "Our offense is too dependent on Zeke. He's going to wear out"

-Do Saints fans say..."Why is Kamara getting so many touches? We have to run the offense through Ingram"

-Do Chiefs fans say...."Spencer Wear is underutilized. He needs to share the load with Kareem Hunt"

So why do we think like that with our starting RB? His yardage totals are up there with the best in the league, he's having a breakout season, Norv has found out how to maximize his talents. He's being used efficiently and a good chunk of his touches are in the open field where he's not taking punishment.

What more does he have to do for his own fan base to respect him as the every down, starting RB?

We didnt need that bum cj Anderson , he did nothing but hold us back when he was in the game , we don't need bell . Mccaffrey is the most underrated running back in the NFL , and our 2nd best player behind cam , it's no longer just cams offense it's cam and mccaffrey offense , Idk why everyone was so upset with norv when cj wasn't getting carries? There's a reason why Denver let him go , he sucks . He was an insurance pick for us just in case mccaffrey didn't workout in norv turner offense but norv has done a great job with Christian

Atleast I know my players can beat the Saints.

YES,,

I visit many of the ememies  sites ,,  and yes,,  they have those who question their coaches daily .. they believe  " every man/ woman can coach and cook a steak "

Teams that are winning,,  less whining , ie the 'aints... teams that are losing,  falcons, giants..  everyone's a coach. The Fire Rivera team here  were very quite after the Phil, Baltimore, Bucs victories.   As soon as there's a loss..  the fire Rivera threads start..  just an example

I don't think many on here think that CMC is a bad player if any at all.  The concerns I have have nothing really to do with CMC.  It has to do with depth, injury, and specialization.  Football has evolved into a game of specialist. Pass rush specialist, 3rd down back, nickel back, x receiver, y receiver, in the box safety, bump and run corner, and so on.  All of which are terms describing various specialties within the game of football.  CMC is a great runner who has world class footwork who also happens to be an equally skilled receiver.  With all that said, he can't do what Legarrette Blount can do between the tackles...nor can Blount do much of what CMC can do.  I'm not inferring that CMC can't run between the tackles because he can, but if I had to pick his biggest strengths that wouldn't be one of them.  I do think that a proper power back is useful to have...especially in the playoffs...and by power back...I mean a dude who weighs over 230.  I think this would also help diminish the likelihood of an injury to CMC as well.

By the way all their fans do say that.  Go read their boards more often. They're just like us....but most are worse.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
