Is there any reason Samuel is only playing like 25% of the snaps???

I’m not sure what more he has to do to work his way into the field. For everyone that’s says”the best players always play” doesn’t know this team. His touchdown to opportunity rate has to be amazing at this point. He has shown the ability to win in the big and small game(lost in the big game jump ball as well).

At this point it’s not DJ Moore Vs Curtis Samuel as both are good football players. A good head coach would see the film and say hey, we gotta get these guys the ball more instead of Funchess getting 7-8 targets and dropping half of them. For most of the game I thought Samuel was being disciplined or was injured.

I don’t think I can stomach another week of Samuel playing 15 plays.

I dont remember anytime during Rivera's tenure that we have demoted an established player. I remember trading Beason to Giants to allow Luke to play his natural MLB position. For Samuel to get more than 15% of the snaps, we have to cut into Funchess' snaps, which I am in favor of.

I think after this last game he should pass Goonchess on the depth chart. If #10 and #12 arent on the field the majority of the plays, we know the staff either doesnt care about winning or absolutely clueless on how to do so. I think #13 has played well given his role, I dont want to reduce his role.

Because of Funchess & Smith being on the roster.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
