Is Norv Turner taking over as interim head coach a detrimental move to the team's playoff push?

If everyone gets their wish and we fire Ron, replacing him with Norv makes by far the most sense.

Of course that brings him out of the booth and down on the field. Something would happen differently with offensive play-calls.

Assuming all that gets worked out, does this give the team any kind of measurable advantage? We are still in the playoff hunt and any moves made now have to be made with that in mind.

Could Turner give this team a chance for an effective playoff run that Ron can't?

Would he even want to be a HC again? Didn’t we have to lure him out of retirement? He may not want all that responsibility. Although, he clearly was poo today on our first two RZ possessions. 7 straight runs I believe instead of a perfect cam newton throwing or a play action.

Norv Turner is just another version of Ron Rivera as HC, maybe even worse and at best only slightly better.  There is a reason those super talented Chargers teams never did much.

But I doubt Turner would agree to that happening anyway.  I don't think he wants to be saddled with any head coaching duties.

No matter the changes in logistics, making Norv the HC would be a net positive.  Norv was at least an average coach that won a lot of games over his career with a lot less talent on his rosters...  i would be completely ecstatic if Tepper made this happen.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
