“Maybe we asked them to do too much, maybe that’s on us” is a backhanded way of trying to look like he’s taking accountability but still throw the players under the bus and put the blame on them.

Yeah I take it as he basically saying that what he expects to get done the players aren’t good enough

And it's the same old rhetoric.  You can escape it when the losses are scattered, but after the straight dings, the coach speak gets very old.  We have to be more focused, we have to step up and make big plays, and perhaps the most annoying of all- we will correct these mistakes and come out ready to play next week.  I heard that after the Steelers loss, after the Lions loss, and I am hearing now.  Quit telling me that next week will be an improvement.  Show me!  Otherwise, just conduct a Mike Leach presser.

Id unironically rather have mike Leach as our football coach. At least we would get good meme's

Man I love that Rivera will always give you extra, more better, mostest, morer, and even more still proof that he's an absolutely brain dead fug off. He thinks we control our own destiny....ROFL hahahahaha holy poo this man is so fugin stupid it's hilarious.

I will perhaps cheer as hard as in any game when he is fired from this team. It will be a circle the date down to the millisecond type of event.

Then you sit back and watch him go fug up another team just so we can point and laugh at the idiots who were like "durr he'll find a team the second he's gone". Can't wait.

I will never forgive JR, Ron, and Shula for ruining our best chance at a dynasty with TWO hall of famers on both sides of the ball because they still thought it was 1985. We cannot get rid of Ron fast enough. And if Tepper retains Rivera after this season, then fug him too.

Agreed, we are all(myself included) projecting onto Tepper but he could be a poo stain as well....sure hope not. We'll be finding out pretty soon though.

I get people are upset but what does anyone expect him to say at the press conference? I failed? I know I wouldn’t say that about on own job.  I honestly think Rivera is in one of those positions where it’s damned if he does and damned if he don’t. Whatever call he makes, if things don’t go as planned, he will be questioned for not taking the opposite approach. I still believe we can make a run but it’s up to the players as well to execute and stay disciplined. Those whiffed tackles have plagued us all year. That is something that can be fixed. Will it? Who knows. I am not ready to pack in this season. Let’s win the next 5 (one can hope right?)..it’s been done before

i hear you but we're in the same situation as dallas.  too many wins keeps a loser, keeps cam as a job saver qb...   i hate losing so bad but i hate it worse for cam.   y'all know his legacy if we don't find someone to use him correctly and all the weapons he has.   y'all know.   it sucks and its racist.    i hate that.

Go back and listen to any of Steve Wilks press conferences last year. Every single time there was a defensive issue, Wilks said "that's on me".

That's what true leaders do. They take responsibility. They don't pass the buck to someone else.

Rivera has always deflected blame from himself and the coaches onto the players. That's not leadership.
