The Ringer: Daryl Williams Will Get A Contract That 'Might Shock Some People' (13 Million+ p/year)

Well, I thought this was an interesting read.

You guys willing to pay Daryl Williams 13+ million per year? The Ringer is hinting that might be the case this year with Daryl Williams:

Trent Brown, Ja’Wuan James, and Daryl Williams ... have played better at their peaks than Smith has at any point during his Tampa Bay tenure. Like quarterback, offensive tackle is a spot where competence comes at a premium. Teams are willing to overpay for guys who merely allow their offenses to function. If Smith warrants a contract with an average annual value of over $13 million, then Brown, James, and Williams are going to get contracts that might shock some people.

So, would you justify paying that much for a tackle coming off injury?

Also just to let you know the Panthers don't have that kind of money if that's how it plays out lol.

Just now, black-panthers said:

Daryl is no where Donovan Smith is so far in their careers.

Donovan sucks bud. Cam Jordan's already expressed his pleasure about his resigning and Bucs fans their despair lol.

Daryl's coming off an All-Pro season with his resume. He's going to garner interest with that flashy award in his belt of high end money.

Now if we're even considering paying 9m+ to Daryl Williams then welp I'd give up.

Heck, even putting him as starter I have my qualms about.

So yeah if the Panthers are stupid to pay him premium when we have Taylor Moton then I have big issues.

It ain't happening. I'd rather my team draft 4 OL in the first three rounds than pay someone like him so much.

Guess what. All 4 combined would likely make less this year than DW is wanting, and they aren't coming off an injury, NOR have they already looked average to decent, at best, in the NFL.

No way in hell they should pay Williams that. I’m fed up with the stubbornness of this team. They continuously trot out scrubs with the likes of Bell, Kalil, etc. to protect Cam’s blindside but refuse to try Moton. Kick Moton over and draft a damn RT for pennies on the cost.

That’s insane for Williams. We must let the guy go like Norwell. It’s not worth the asking price when you can easily get someone in the first 3 rounds of the draft this year for a fraction of the cost and similar production. I would rather have Paradis and save a few million

    • And remind y’all that Rico Dowdle ran the ball 7 times on Monday.
    • I didn't want to pay him and they should have traded him before the 20+ million in dead cap. I feel this is another "blame tepper", he wanted a QB and Panthers only had 4 draft picks. CMC got a bad health report and missed games, but league still valued him and he was the best player on the team. Shitttttterererererererer traded him for 4 future picks, the future 2nd ended up being 61st........so all the other draft picks in 5th 4th were next to last, just a mistake. Yes 49ers at the time looked cook, but CMC helped them reach the SB. Used that 2nd and 3rd in the BY and DJ Johnson trades.....just awful returns. It was dirty to wilks to trade CMC while he was trying to make the playoffs, best I member the run game got better after the trade....   Im just one of those "never pay RB, safety, or MLBs" unless cheap/all world. CMC is not all world, but he's dang close.  Poorly handle, he bought a big home and thought he'd remain a career panther....Herniay made him the 16 million man, tops by 4 full million and no RB passed that mark for 2 years, God dam fug you herniay.  Im anti-RB, but about the last thing they should have done was trade a 1000 1000 threat that wanted to stay here, just total fumble by the Panthers/tepper/herniay/fittterererererererere per normal for this time-line.
