Panthers gotta stop giving farewell tours and giving out worthless contracts. Mainly the former. We don’t have the Patriots FO and superior scouting/scheming, and don’t have as much to offer as a small market team but it’d be nice after 25 years to learn how to let go of fan favorites and sign players to reasonable contracts.

Matt Kalil's utter failure doesn't change the fact that Ryan was the best center we've ever had. Sure, plenty of us have speculated that the family connection likely played a role in his signing but that's all that is, speculation.

family reunions rarely work. Hurricanes tried it with the Staals. That was a failure. We tried it with the Kalils. Another failure. Unless the brothers are super talented like the Sedin twins, it's best to not sign siblings.

Who here wouldn't take that much money if a team was not only desperate enough, but foolish enough to throw it at you?

Kalil was one of the worst signings in franchise history, but the guy didn't sign himself.

it's over. he's gone. the guys mostly responsible for getting him here are gone (gettleman and big brother kalil).

time to hope that what they are trying to do today will help take them the distance.

I would take it right now and wouldn't even blink an eye. I don't care if I can't do the job. the guys throwing the money at me should have done a better job checking me out. if it's guaranteed pay, show me the dotted line.

I don't recall having 2 Staals ever being a problem. The terminally disinterested former owner, on the other hand...

I think my favorite rationalizing was when people were saying Matt would be better because his brother is on the team. I knew we were fuged then.
