I love the people who come into a topic and act like it's no big deal but take the time out of their day to get all emotional and write out some reply voicing their displeasure.

You don’t have the clout to quote me guy. Now go back to your silly little rant.

It's not about whether he paid for the outfit.  It's the message he is sending to kids.  He needs to understand his audience and promote a more positive message that doesn't have to do with bowing down to monetary things.

Out of all the poo kids are exposed to on TV and the Google, Cams wild ass hat and how much he paid for it is the message I should worry about?

There are athletes from this sport  beating their kids and wives but we wanna throw shade at cam and his Minnie Pearl hat?   Want training camp to get here fast

This dude just fuging hates Cam.  He's always in these topics dogpiling on him for stupid poo that doesn't matter.  iirc he was in the gameday thread when we played the Falcons in Charlotte and was losing his poo after Taylor Heinicke got hurt because the cameras caught Cam laughing or something on the sideline.

Insignificant

78% of NFL players end up filing for bankruptcy or are insolvent within just 5 years of retirement

60% of NBA players file for bankruptcy within 5 years of retirement

MLB (major league baseball) players file for bankruptcy at a rate 4x the national average

Why try to change the narrative?  Why should the leader of the team show any type of understanding how fortunate he is and show a little class?  I mean, I guess it's a good thing we play at Bank of America Stadium because Cam is going to make them a lot of money.

How many of those bankruptcies were caused by gaudy hats loaned out to be worn at galas.  You sound ridiculous.

"show some class reeeeee" is utterly subjective.  Cam does tons of charity events, youth outreach, and a million other things that get documented on this site every day.  Things he doesn't have to do.  Were you also angry at Steve Smith when some journalist asked him about how he doesn't have a ring and he listed off the luxury cars he drives and his bank account balance and ended the interview:

Quote

“There’s are a lot of ways I can answer that question that’ll make me sound like an asshole, so I’m probably not going to respond,” Steve Smith said. “I have a fine ass wife. I’ve got about $35 million in the bank, and I drive a Bentley and a Tesla. What the fug do you think it’s like?”

He then asked me to leave immediately, while reminding me to tell his superiors how he “clowned” on me.

So now we are downing the man for going to the Gala with diamonds that was loaned to him to wear? This world would be a lot more bearable if people just worried about their own lives and fix things that are wrong within themselves. I’m all for criticizing players when they make bonehead mistakes on the field but to judge everything this kid does in his spare time,? Come on guys , be better

Having money is great.  Making it seem cool to spend 300k on diamonds when you aren't even worth 100 million is how people go broke.

I know it’s pretty hard to conceptualize $100 million...you know spending $300K for a $100 millionaire is like spending $30 if you have $10K in the bank. Not exactly irresponsible when you put things in perspective.

Edit: crap, I just defended a Carolina Panther who was drafted by the current regime...now I must prepare to suffer the wrath of the edgy contrarians on here.

We've already spent more time on this discussion than Cam spent on putting that outfit together.

Really, aren't there more important things than getting all judge-y on what our QB does for a social event? It's beginning to sound like Melissa and Joan Rivers screeching on the sidelines of any given red carpet event.

How about you just worry about the impact you have on kids instead of worrying about what cam does. He doesn't work for you. He doesn't play for you. He doesn't live for you. Instead he walks to the beat if a different drummer and he's not afraid to be himself, which is a message in trying to instil in my kids. Don't worry about being what everyone thinks you should be. Be you. As long as you don't hurt anyone and do some good a long the way (both of which is the case for cam) then you have nothing to worry about.

You are the type of person I hope my kids never feel the need to listen to, regardless of what you say. You sit there on some self righteous imaginary throne telling people how they should live to fit into your little boring and homogeneous world when you have absolutely no authority or reason anyone should listen.

[Other than some poor choices when put on the spot in a few selected post-game press conferences...] Cam's entire attitude is about positive messages/joy on and off the field, enjoying life (including enjoying and celebrating fans), and being himself.

Look at people killing each other over a $100 pair of Jordans and tell me an influencer with millions of fans glamorizing jewelry isn't hurting anybody.

I don't even need to respond to the rest of your judgemental reply.

People are always looking to defend people they perceive to be victims.

Even if you go prior to that, he was a scholarship athlete and heir apparent to the starting QB job at an SEC school that was, at the time, a perennial title contender and pumping players into the NFL.  He did some dumb poo, got in trouble, and seemingly blew the opportunity of a lifetime.  After that, he played community college football for a season, straightened his poo out, and then only went on to win a Heisman and lead Auburn from #22 in the country to a national title.

There have been many, many others who just never recovered from something like getting kicked out of UF.  I've seen people alternately rip on him for being both too pouty and too happy, it's stupid.
