Heinicke shouldn't be overlooked says Rivera

It’s hard to know how impactful he can or will be, but he cut his teeth and took his licks, for sure. That Falcons game was a brutal experience, little of which he could control.

There’s some solid game experience between the two “veteran” backups. I tend to favor Allen, personally.

Tbh, we really shouldn't be carrying 3 QBs now since we need more bodies for the hybrid defense.

Might not have much of an option. Let's say hypothetically that either Allen or Heineken beat out Grier for that #2 spot. If you try and stash him on the practice squad, it leaves him open to being poached by other NFL teams. So do you hope that doesn't happen or do you carry three? Not to mention, we all saw how quickly we ran through QB's once Cam went down. Cam can take(although shouldn't) a lot of punishment. That isn't going to be the case for the rest of that group. That is making two big assumptions; the OL play improves and that Cam stays healthy. I am not sure I would go into the season banking on either.

Now, in the case that Grier is clearly the guy and the other two look like borderline prospects, take the risk and stash the better of the two on the practice squad.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
