Goodell and refs to testify under oath about infamous no call

The NFL will spend millions fighting this... I still think when it is all said and done, there is little chance Goodell is going under oath.

This would set a terrible precedent for the NFL, and they will fight this with everything they have as long as they have to.

Aints organization and it's fans are so full of cesspool swamp water and muck just like their state and city government officials.

Here is a ridiculous thread from Aints forum.

The Judge should have laughed this out of the courtroom telling these fools that the courts do not have time for this nonsense especially with a waste of a case like this one is. Nothing in that game was illegal and against the law but the City N.O. along with the state of Louisiana seem to think that it is.

Let's not forget about the NFL carrying their sorry asses to a Lombardi for that post-Katrina feel good story all the while those filthy swamp rats were putting bounties on opposing players while Sean Payton ate pain killers like Skittles.

Oh yeah..how about all the personal foul /roughing the passer calls that weren’t called on the saints for hammering Brett Favre and obviously targeting his leg...if just a couple more of those were called Minnesota wins that NFC championship game.  Reminded me of our super bowl and our rematch with Denver where the refs apparently just forgot their are strict rules about hitting the QB...for certain teams at least. #gatorfugers ..!..

The league will probably argue that their product is interstate commerce, and thus solely a Federal matter, and that the Federal courts have already ruled.  Thus La. has no jurisdiction.  I suspect they made that argument to the trial judge already (this is too much tripe for me to spend time reading it), and she didn't agree.

Wouldn't you love to be on the US Court of Appeals, if the argument winds up with them, writing the "reverse and dismiss" opinion.....and taking a few shots at the "lower court's" rationale (and sanity) in allowing the case to move forward?

There used to be a US District Court judge based in Galveston who would write opinions that would make attorneys feel like they were sitting on a stool in the corner, wearing a dunce cap.  A friend of mine is a lawyer in Dallas who would send them to me, and comment they are very funny unless you are on the butt-end of them.  Maybe bring him out of retirement, if he is still alive, to write this one?

Generally removal to federal court is automatic and immediate and it appears that the defendants have not attempted to remove the case yet and this is perplexing.  I hope it stays in NO and keeps the wound open because this type of thing means NO isn't over the loss and likely will carry over to this year.

That game loss isn't a legal issue so why was it sent to court anyway. Nobody went to court because of Patriots cheating and at least 4 suspect SB's which weren't fair wins. You are right though because Aints organization and it's fans will continue to make a mountain out of the smallest ant hill.

    • see we are just not going to agree - unless you change your mind lol. Mine isn’t changing without hard evidence that Morgan supported it like a puppy dog.  He was the assistant. If he disagreed and said so, and they didn’t listen, he has to pick his battles. If he continued to oppose he is looking for work. He knows this stuff. I think he knows Bryce is a super long shot just because he faced NFL QBs and probably would have salivated at the thought of Bryce on the other side in his playing days.  Anyway I am going to judge him on what he has done since he’s been the man with the title.  I also would bet a stack that there were conditions placed on him and on Canales re Bryce Young. Can’t prove it. I am not supporting the Brooks pick, and rationalizing the XL pick. And rationalizing the Brooks pick to an extent, on the (assumed by me) mandate that was a condition of the hiring. Which was ‘sell out’ to make Bryce work. This year. Now. (2024) That is what those top two picks were.  IMO. They failed, id judged today.  I think Morgan is doing a great job really, once he got his feet under him and was allowed to do his job.  Fixing this team while accommodating Tepper/Bryce, more than a two year fix.    Anyhow I have beer to drink will check back later.
    • Dolphins pass rushers Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips: The Dolphins have received trade interest for both players, but could have an easier time trading Matthew Judon due to his more affordable contract
    • Saints WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed: While the Saints have maintained they don't want to trade their wide receivers, other teams are still monitoring their availability.
