Even if it doesn’t happen, dude is a beast.  Not sitting back and basking in his wealth.  Lots of good things to come IMO

I have been pleasantly surprised and glad to say that while he is not the guy I originally wanted...at this point I wouldn't want anyone else that was in the running.

No one else was in the running. The other owners had already picked Tepper as the next guy in the club and they were in a position to force JR into selling to Tepper if it had come down to it.

Fair enough, I will try to clarify.

Even if they had no chance, Tepper was still not the guy I originally wanted out of the people who were publicized as having a chance at getting it.

There is a reason the mint city group sent out membership info today and I signed up immediately. I’m stoked and hope it happens

Just a coincidence - not anticipating any announcement today. But if it does come today I’m going to delete this

Im not a soccer fan at all (don't hate it, just ambivalent to it) but I think this could be huge. Not nfl huge, but still huge and I think the climate is right for something like this to succeed and tepper has enough savvy to make it work. I hope it does because it could mean huge things as far as upgrades to the stadium or a new one (which we're probably due for).

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
