Captains?

Maybe I missed it but when will the team captains for this season be announced? A few spots to fill from last year... TD, Pep and Kalil gone (though due to his suspension TD only became a captain again after Greg got hurt).

Carryovers are Cam, Luke, Greg, Colin Jones (ST captain), if they all keep their C’s which is a good bet that leaves two spots (or three if Jones loses it)...

Who will/should they be? I see McCoy getting one and wouldn’t be shocked if Christian got one. Those would be my picks.

Off topic: Pretty cool that TD was voted a captain for the Chargers.

For Panthers, I think Trai and KK are likely captains. Giving us 1 at each level, QB, offensive skill, Oline, D-line, LB, DB.

CMC and McCoy deserve it too, however.

Didn’t see that but good for TD and I’ll definitely be rooting for the Chargers over other AFC teams.

I don’t really see Trai or KK as leaders—quieter and not very vocal, and they’ve had inconsistent play. But they very well may get it on seniority and being here all along.

    • It goes deeper than that for me. When I started watching the Panthers as a kid I fell in love with Mark Fields’ story during that SB run. He wore #58. Then TD wore it and kept the tradition of the being the soul of the Panthers. The next time someone wears #58 I hope brings that same spirit
    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
