P.S. Weddle went out, and we still couldn't push the ball downfield.  I understand being careful, but when you lose a starter, at least attempt to go after their replacement.

That's something pretty much every other team in the league does, but I hardly ever see us do it.

When Shula was OC you could put the blame there, but Turner should know better.

Sunday, wife asked if we were going to go after Weddle's replacement, I said nah, Ron's a bit too nice for that.

Before all of you get up in arms . . . can someone please post the stats on receiving cushion?  I can only see stats for DJ Moore, because he had the highest average cushion IN THE NFL for week 1, with an average cushion of 9.3 yards.  If all our receivers were being treated this way, it says something ENTIRELY different than the narrative that people seem to immediately jump to.  Pretty damn hard to get deep when your defender is 10 yards off at the snap.

My thought it is doesn't matter. 1 play, no matter the cushion, line up and put the ball 50 yards down the field out of bounds so the defense can see that you can do it, accuracy be damned. If they see it they have to respect it.

I gotta say it  ... the Ram's defense is pretty solid.

Talib and Peters will most likely effect your decision making.

We were a dink and dunk O last year before the decline... we are now....this doesn't mean the man can't throw past 25 yards...lol

Last time I saw Cam throwing deep in a game was with a different coordinator (not that I don't like Norv, because I do but it is what it is) IIRC was the 2017 Wildcard game ...

Last offseason, he was throwing long balls to AB. I refuse to believe he can't do it.

On top of the media fuggin him over at every chance possible... his own fan base won't even give him the benefit of the doubt.  It's only been 4 qtrs...relax. Reality is, things aren't nearly as bad as most people claim it to be. We had alot of good to take away ...although I would have preferred the win. Either way, we are only one game in..

I wouldn't take week 1 as an indication of this entire season....

We attempted 1-2 per game to Torrey in the first few weeks last year. All of which were underthrown or very inaccurate. Torrey also wasn’t really able to get a step on his man. After that we just stopped trying and reverted to almost pure dink and dunk. Longest thing we ever really tried after that were some deep in cuts 15-20 yards down the field.

Samuel was wide open on that key 3 and out after Bradberry’s INT where Cam completely missed him. If he hits him in stride, Samuel makes one move to make the safety running towards him miss and we are up by 4.

Samuel is as fast as anyone, but he was barely targeted and even when wide open Cam missed. Definitely not as bad as last year where Cam under threw him multiple times on easy TDs due to the shoulder. Hopefully, Cam can start hitting him because it sure as heck was t Samuel not getting open.

We might not need that if we didn't call a QB Draw in that same series that lost yards...

At some point we might need to talk about play calls.

Me and you must not have been watching the same game on Sunday.  His throws had plenty of zip on them.  He hit many throws that were on a line 10 to 15 yards down the field.  I have no doubt he can throw it 50+ if need be.  The deepest shot they took on Sunday was overthrown by a good bit.  Arm strength is not the issue anymore.  Now, accuracy and touch are a different story.

Accuracy and touch has long been the problem. His mechanics look better, but he has no urgency. Find your man, and get him the ball. He lets plays develop to long, he's to patient. Then he tries to bail himself out with his legs.

The one thing I need explained is how people say that Cam can’t throw it deep but then complain about that overthrow. He can throw it  deep no problem. He needs the opportunity to throw it deep. That’s going to come from play calling and protection.

He's protection was fine. It's the same old problem of WRs not getting opened.

25 air yards downfield is not really a deep throw. A true deep ball is usually 40+ yards. Cam used to fling the ball 50+ off his back foot. It looks like a struggle for him to throw 10 yard outs now.

Not true at all. He Lazered one in to Greg Olson just like his old self. The fact is we don't have a WR who can seperate and get open...

Talib can’t cover quick WRs anymore.   That book has been out for a couple years.  They cause him issues.  He couldn’t even cover Philly Brown downfield a few years ago.

Which is why the very first time Philly embarrassed him downfield he took him out with that brutal facemask sling
