Brian Burns.....oo

It's slightly off topic, but another stat in the Athletic article cited by the OP surprised me.

Cam was 17th in 20+ yard passing attempts. That seemed higher than expected. I knew a lot had to be incompletions.  Sheil Kapadia, the author was kind enough to reply to my comment asking for details.

Cam has had 12 attempts of 20+ yards, of which he completed 3. (25%). Ouch.

Draft kinda fell in our favor.

Word was the pick at 16 was going to be Greg Little. The team wasn't expecting Brian Burns to fall to us. When he did, that changed things.

Could have been a very different draft if he hadn't.

This can be said for every team.

What I fear will happen with Burns is that the refs won't be calling offensive holding on him as much as we feel they should because, even though tackles end up sideways with their arms around him, they call it bum rushing not giving the tackle enough time to drop his arms. Happened often to Peppers the first time he was with us. Glad Peppers is here to give Burns techniques and tweaks to get the calls.

Burns was a great pick far as fixing this pass rush. Great building block,  now we just need to find someone to put on the other side of him. We all know how good the defense was when we had 2 very good DEs, im hoping thats Haynes going forward cuz i feel like he is developing pretty well.

Dont want to see another situation where we develop good players just to go to other teams.

Since I hit 50, I've found that I can go into a day off with a list of five or six different things that I want to get done but then as soon as I finish one of them I feel like that's enough for the day.

Hit 50 this summer and yep, and with kids of 14 and 11, sometimes that accomplishment is just picking up the towels they leave in the bathroom. Whew, call it a day.
