QB Rankings by EPA/play and Passing Grade

Any sane individual wouldn't compare a backup to a franchise QB. Playmakers at QB are rare but can carry an offense and are well worth the $. If you don't have one you need one.

Why all of a sudden is Curtis Samuel being called "garbage"!?! No Cam. Samuel is out running deep balls thrown his way. Remember Tedd Ginn? You need an NFL arm for such fast receivers.

This QB "controversy" is idiotic and isnt based on football.

Kyle Allen is a bottom 3 qb in the NFL by every single metric I've seen on him

Can't find a single positive metric on Allen, either by conventional stats, or advanced stats

People will cite win-loss record as his only positive metric, but that's not a quarterback stat, it's a team stat

Hes not lighting it up but hes not bottom 3 in any of the traditional qb stats. Theres no need to invent numbers to try to make a point when anyone can see it's not true by simply looking at the stats. What do you gain with false statements?

Maybe true for Mayfield, Darnold, Goff, Rosen but not Kyle Allen.

Hey look, he compares to every 1st round rookie or 2nd year player out there.... what gives?

Most rookie quarterbacks, even first round, even first overall, don't make it in this league. It's very difficult to find a quarterback.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
