Should a loss to the Falcons on Sunday be the nail in Rivera's coffin?

As many of us know, the Panthers have struggled against division opponents in recent seasons. The Panthers are 7-13 against the division since 2016.

Now, a struggling 2-7 Falcons team comes to Charlotte looking to put a positive spin on a bad season. The Panthers have already lost to a bad Buccaneers team at home in Week 2.

If Ron Rivera can't draw up a gameplan to beat a 2-7 division opponent at home, with playoff hopes already on life-support, Rivera has outlived his usefulness as head coach and the search for a new staff should begin immediately after the game.

It should, we have been absolutely garbage in the division, this new Defense was intended to change that, if we lose to a 2-7 team at home, its time to uproot the whole system.

Absolutely. If we lost Sunday, that would mean we are 2-7 against the Falcons since 2015, and it would make us 12-16 in our division since 2015. That's not a sign of a good coach. Good coaches compete in their division, not be the doormat.

Pretty sure that's a given considering if we do lose at home to them, then it sure as hell won't be our last loss of the season and most likely ending with a losing record.

it depends on how bad the loss is, like if this historically bad secondary looks like the legion of boom against us because ron/norv didn't gameplan properly, or if they somehow call the perfect gameplan to carve up our defense because we didn't prepare, then yeah, he should be gone.

The way Newton’s injury was handled last season should have been, but I surmise Tepper is trying to hew to the Steeler doctrine of being super conservative in replacing coaches.

I promise you all that we are going to lose this Sunday. It won’t be the nail in the coffin until Ron lose next weekend to New Orleans. Going 0-3 (GB, Atl, NO) and having a 5-6 record will do it.

Any loss at this point means we are out of the Playoff picture so yes. I think you might survive a loss to Sea but not beating a team for 3 years is low. Especially when they have won two games.
