I have read it but YEARS ago. It was just a stream of consciousness thought. Perhaps it rattled loose from some dusty, cobweb filled corner that remembered that book, however. I don't know.

I love to read and Adams might be the funniest writer I’ve ever read not named Dave Barry. Catch 22 is the single funniest book, but none of Joseph Heller’s other stuff is as good.

...or helicopter facilities, at least, are apparently part of the plan for the new Panthers complex. That, plus gambling and a brewery.

The tweet links to Jordan Rodrigue's latest article in The Athletic.

In New York, Wall Street investment bankers all have helicopter pads on their Manhattan roofs and fly out to their estates in the Hamptons or wherever. Traveling on the ground is for peasants. My guess is with his background and Charlotte’s identity as a banking hub, he is trying to create similarly exclusive cache for the wealthy here.

I wonder if the theme park will consist of a one gap defense that doesn’t get gashed for 5 yards a pop.

It will offer a reality experience for anyone to suit up and take handoffs against a VR Panther defense and you too can see just how easy it is.

"But wait! There's more...!!!!!"

Imagine being so rich that you can not only buy an NFL team, but also essentially build your own personal vacation resort around it. Tepper is so rich he basically lives in an alternate reality from the rest of us.

Yup. A point in Tepper’s favor is that he was not raised in that kind of wealth and does not appear to have forgotten his roots. He is heavily involved in charity work and appears to take seriously a commitment to use his resources for the betterment of society.

When a guy like that wants to build a helicopter pad, it bothers me very little. As always ymmv.

Honestly, what else can he do right now? Is there a GM on the street who can magically draft guys in November or find Kurt Warner bagging groceries? It’s mid season so unless there’s a coaching candidate sitting on his ass, there’s not much to do right now except play the last 7 games and evaluate.

The non-football stuff he can control and work on so why is it so bad that he is doing that? People complain about Spartanburg (not me, have a feeling the fan interactions go away) and practicing in a ball room and he’s fixing that quickly.

I think what he was implying was that he wished the football side got his attention 1st, and the business side 2nd.

But we all know that most of these owners care about making money 1st and foremost, the winning, if it comes, is nice too.

Yeah, none of these guys got into this out of any charitable sensibility. They are here to make money and grow the value of these franchises.
