Tepper speaks

Captain Morgan

Tepper also said that if the Panthers were interested in employing Colin Kaepernick -- and that they weren't -- they would bring him in for a normal workout in Charlotte. He did mention he had watched some of Kaepernick's Atlanta workout on his mobile phone though.

2 two super bowl losses makes it worse. It just shows we had the players to do it, but not the staff around them. Good one year and bad the next shows it all. With Cam and Luke we should always be in the playoff race. If Tepper doesn’t like mediocrity, Rivera will be gone.

He said no LONG term mediocrity. Didn’t explain what his definition of long term is. Nothing he said insinuates that he’s firing anyone.

A local media guy here in Charlotte just said that Tepper seems like he’s personally offended by mediocrity.

Let’s see what you got Dave!

Most teams have had back to back winning seasons sometime in their existence (Im not sure if any have not other than us). I mean the super bowls were nice, would have been even nicer to win one, but for us to fill up our stadium we need to give people a reason to watch every year not every other couple of years.

A google search of "nfl teams without back to back winning seasons" Only brings up the carolina panthers, that is terrible.

Darin Gantt says the Falcons had a 42 year stretch of no back to back winning seasons. I've not verified, but he seems to know his facts on this type of thing.

Was VERY glad Tepper talked. It clears the air a bit, especially after Ron's dud of a presser today.

Uh..so...basically a decade of mediocrity isn't long term mediocrity?

The team has been mediocre for most of its existence, I would call that long term. If he won’t accept long term mediocrity he should’ve fired everyone last year unless that wasn’t long enough for him

Yea there are plenty of teams that have a huge advantage over us in being able to acquire back to back winning seasons while sucking other times in their history. Most teams have been around a lot longer than us.
