Greg Olsen leaves Panthers, doesn't retire

Greg has one more year if healthy and it was clear he didn't want to be under contract here if he decided to play (which he hasn't).  So the team is giving him the chance to sign with a contender and possibly get a ring.  He's going somewhere he doesn't have to be the starter, 60 plays a game.  Situational.  Win-win.   No point in keeping him when his production for 2020 will be marginal at best for this team and he doesn't want to be here in the first place.  We clear a lot of cap room and give a great player and teammate a final shot at a title.  How some of you think this is an idiotic move by the team is mind-boggling.

Much respect for Olsen. He was on the decline and had some injuries recently. His cap hit might be too large for production honestly. Time for Ian Thomas to step up!

It's a similar situation to when TD was released so shaq could start, this was happening regardless of Rivera and company being here.

If the Panthers decide to move on from Cam there needs to be a succession plan. I dont want to hear about losing games to draft a certain QB. This isn't the NBA where one player can make the difference on both ends.  I hope the money saved will be used to address the biggest holes on this roster OL and DL.
