Panthers hiring a writer?

Mr. Scot

Saw this on Twitter...

Don't know how legit this place is, but it links to this job description:

Quote

The Carolina Panthers are hiring a seasoned writer to report news and enterprise engaging stories.  The ideal candidate should have experience working a beat, from covering all angles on game day to providing practice observations and conducting interviews inside and outside the locker room.  The reporter who fills this position will not be expected to focus solely on positive angles. Instead, the top candidate will be able to use his or her inside access to help educate fans on why things are happening to provide a level of transparency that is uncommon on most team websites.

That's pretty interesting if this is legit.

Does kinda make me wonder if it means anything for Bill Voth or Max Henson. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like we heard less and less from Voth over the past season or two.

Like so much else with this franchise, I will believe it when I see it. Sounds too good to be true. We still can't get teansperancy on why Marty is still employeed...great talent evaluator is a statement that needs to be fact checked...enough to lose the job right there. I'm fine with the organization producing fluff as long as I don't have to pretend it is anything but that. I firmly belive the best analysis of the organization needs ro come from without so that the facts or opinions are not tainted by the powers that be.

Hell, Mixon still has a job. Why not fix that first before attempting such a difficult thing most likely doomed to fail?

Judging by posts from the past year or so, I'm pretty sure Voth is now overseeing media production for the Panthers, so day to day reporting isn't really his bag anymore. Makes sense as he started his own production company in Charlotte before BBR if I'm not mistaken.

Voth changed when he became an employee.  Kinda strange they wouldn't offer him that kind of job but basically just take of the handcuffs.

What's happened with Voth kinda reminds me of when they promoted Captain Kirk to admiral.

Sure, it's technically a promotion, but it also takes you away from what you're probably best at.

Bill is more of a video guy than a writer for the Panthers. They fired Brian last year. Maybe they will promote Max and then hire a junior. Many companies post jobs per policy even if they have someone in mind already

I knew Strickland was gone. Didn't know he'd been fired. Was there a reason?
