Too bad Marty restructured Short or he’d be another easy cut. He’s not worth an additional $14M in new cap for 2020. We just wasted $4-5M to restructure him last year. If we keep him this year we basically spent an extra $18-19M in cap. We did nothing with the extra cap space.

It's possible be a pretty decent player and still not get close to living up to that big free agent paycheck.

Dontari was this way. And, honestly, that is far, far more common than a bust free agent or a star free agent.

You can also look at Bruce Irvin and Gerald McCoy as guys who played decent, but didn't live up to the potential those paychecks pointed to.

Man this team has a lot of holes to fill. Im not sure if bringing back Cam even makes sense with this roster. People say we should tank for Lawrence, but there is no way we have the worst record in the NFL if we bring Cam back. We will probably be picking outside the top 5 with Cam. Might as well just trade Cam and start the rebuild.

{" Panthers DL Dontari Poe (cap savings: $10 million): This is pretty straightforward. Barring a pay cut, it’s hard to see Poe back for Matt Rhule’s first year in charge."}

Considering Poe's drop off in performance and the Panthers in need of money savings to rebuild, i can't see him in their future plans.

Exactly. He doesn't fit in long term being on the wrong side of 30, and he isn't worth what we're already paying him. Cut your losses and move on.

On the huddle, a player is either amazing or terrible lol. He was somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately, the injury will make it an easy decision.

Yeah too many bipolar people on here. The best in the league or fuggin garbage.  No middle ground.
