Well yeah...if I’m coughing or think I have it I’m not going to go to the mall and give it to everyone. Yes everyone should be vigilant and act with precaution. I just think this massive “freak out” from the public is unwarranted.

Th incubation period can be two weeks before symptoms.

Sorry I’m not scared. Virus only affects elderly or people with chronic respiratory issues.
the way people are panicking right now you would think body carts would be coming to our neighborhood during trash days.
I listen to the experts (ie: doctors) and all experts are saying that the media is blowing this way out and have no idea what they are talking about. Basically saying stop reporting on medical issues you have no clue about.

People with other underlying health risks outside of just chronic respiratory  issues also should be included.   Per the experts.

I’m “informed” not scared. This virus affects elderly and people with chronic dieases. If people we dying that are young and healthy and children, then it would be a different story.

medical community has stated numerous times that “‘majority” of people getting Cv-19 will only experience mild symptoms.

1) death is not the only consequence of the disease this virus causes.  there are significant negative impacts to daily lives of those infected.  moreover, should the disease take hold it would stress our healthcare system immensely, which would have knock-on effects for people suffering from other illnesses.

2) almost 20% of our population is in a more vulnerable demographic.  as responsible citizens we should be concerned for them and take proactive steps to avoid risking their health.

3) that does not mean panic, but it does mean doing things like shutting down large gatherings and taking precautions now so we don't end up anywhere close to what Italy is experiencing.

it is worth noting that your initial post was highly dismissive, but lately you've expressed clear concern for what the disease can do, and apparently have modified your behavior because of it... good on you

Dangerous approach.  This virus is a typically mild flu.  Many people aren’t symptomatic that are carriers.  You go out to the mall and if you aren’t conscientious you can get it or give it easily even if not coughing.   If it makes it into a school or a nursing home it will cause some deaths.  If it makes it into a large population it will overwhelm our medical capabilities.  It’s very contagious and very mild for most carriers.  Just take precautions and don’t be cavalier and all will be ok.

That's part of what makes this dangerous. A lot of people may have what they think is a mild case of cold or flu but what they really have is Covid 19. What caused only a relatively mild illness for them has the potential to cause severe illness in someone else. And right now, we don't have anywhere near the testing capacity to test anyone other than those presenting with very specific symptoms with very obvious links to potential exposure. Not good.

So what you're saying is if we give a press conference, try not to touch everything in sight.  In a way it's poetic justice that Rudy Gober contracted COVID-19.

I was just outside and saw in the distance two helicopters...military. Not a reassuring thing to witness during a massive virus pandemic. Hopefully they're just training in case of the worst. Or do the higher-ups know something we don't?

USA is an individualistic country. Countries that have a greater sense of community and the greater good seem to fare better. Often socialist to some degree. So countries say- that's it, everyone get tested, don't go to work and if you need money for food and lodging we got you. And the people say, alright then. And it blows over more quickly.

Our approach is much different. and way worse.

This isn't advocating socialism.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
