Honestly had a good season before getting hurt, but given his age and injury history, it's the right move

It does leave yet another hole

One hole closer to Trevor Lawrence...

Not with Cam Newton on the roster. I know we joke about how bad our overall team is, but this is Cam Newton at QB not Kyle Allen. No way we have the worst record with Cam at QB. Cam is competitive he will not be playing to lose.

Pretty much. Really the offense should get better next year. Yes our defense might be trash but if we finally transition to an offensive team then it might not matter as much.

When Cam is traded that will seal the deal...

Lol. You guys are so far off. We’d have been around .500 last year even with the the 2015 offense. Our defense is far worse than people want to admit and we will lose a ton. Our 2015 offense with a defense that was #1 in takeaways score 500 points. We gave up 470 points last year and we lost Kuechly and likely lose Bradberry, Poe, McCoy, Butler, Boston, Addison and Irvin. That’s half our secondary and more than half our sacks. Our pass rush and pass defense weren’t even our weak points. We likely are going to be the worst defense if we are trying to go for comp picks and to save cap space for the future years of the rebuild.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
