Time to trade CMC?

CMC plays two spots well and can be a mismatch wherever you play him. You don't just pay him like a RB and you don't just play him at RB either. With the 5wr sets I hear they may run you can play him all over the field and never know where he is lining up.

CMC will make Teddy and our future QB’s life so much easier. He is the best RB in the league and we are revamping our offensive line which will hopefully make him even better. He is our franchise player and still very young. His work ethic and attitude mimic exactly what Rhule wants from his players. We are not trading him...

I wouldn't trade him at this point unless we are talking a legit haul. To not even listen to offers would be foolish.

These CMC superfans don't actually think we brought in Joe Brady just to run the same square peg in a round hole approach by forcing our entire offense through CMC again, do they? That's how we ended up on an 8 game skid last I checked.

You calling someone a “superfan” is the definition of ironic. And no one in this fan base outside of Fantasy Football owners wants to see CMC completely take over the offense game after game. Quit being so salty.

CMC is only 23 and one of...if not the most versatile offensive weapon in the game.  Trading him would beyond retardation.

So would paying him 17 mil a year for a guy that will be a shell if himself in 3 years.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but you have to ask, should we consider trading McCaffrey?

His value will never be higher than it its right now.  He has one year left on a rookie deal (which is very appealing in a trade) and he is coming off of an amazing season that he might never repeat.

What kind of contract is he going to expect?  $15m?  $17m?  Do we want to pay that much for a RB?

What if our new offensive system actually throws to the WRs more?  Does he lose some of his value then?  Don't get me wrong, I think he is a heck of player but his usage rate is pretty high.

What if he packed with Cam in a trade?  I could see some owner being in a "win now" mode liking the idea.  What would Washington or San Diego give for both of them?  San Diego has made some nice moves on the defensive side of the ball.   You would think adding both Cam and CMC to their offense would definitely help , not to mention the buzz that would surround the team.

Can we just stop suggesting this? Really.

CMC is the perfect back to go with Bridgewater in the shotgun.

He will get paid here on a second contract--big money.  He is a difference maker.  I have said before, never put a RB on a second contract--they peak at age 27-28 and rarely earn the money.  Is he different?  Maybe.
