The Panthers have the consensus top draft so far?

Going through draft grades from a bunch of different outlets and I have yet to see a grade lower than an A. Most seem to think we landed 3 impact day one starters and I have yet to see any other team who can also claim that. Lets hope we can keep it up and hopefully add a cornerback or two.

What do you guys think? Is there another team you think that has had a better draft than the Panthers through 3 rounds?

I think we've got the best draft so far...  Miami think did well including tua but they got a poo ton of pics.

With the nfc south arguably having the best qb play in football I'm glad were committed to stopping them. Teddy and the offense will put up points.

We are using Hurney and Morrow's work for Rhule to select and honestly, we've got 3 guys who will be getting significant paying time with super high floors and honestly, not a ton of negatives from what I see.  No BC Gaulden, Edwards, Clausen type choice.  We went out and got legit talent this year.

This Chinn pick is really good IMO.

The things you look for to determine if you did well in the draft don’t always equate to the player living up to the potential that you hope. Winning the draft isn’t always something to brag about. The key to look for is a consensus that the team filled a need and got someone that fits what they want to do. Getting a vote of confidence that your front office and coaching staff are one the same page and getting quality should be the win we all are hoping for, not the media nitpicking at every little decision we make I.E. Mike Mayock, Dave Gettleman, etc.

This draft feels different in the sense that I feel we are actually drafting contributing players. IF we land 3 day one starters..I would say this draft was an absolute home run

Those guys are starter by default.  Wouldn't have mattered who was drafted they are starting whether they are ready or starter quality.  That's how depleted this roster is.

Carolina Panthers

One overlooked aspect of hiring a recently-imported head coach from college football is that they bring with them a unique perspective on the incoming draft class. Matt Rhule recruited for and competed against a good deal of 2020 players, as he spoke about with our Albert Breer, and he’s handling the board as such.

It’s hard not to imagine that Rhule got Week 1 starters with each of his first three picks—Derrick Brown, Yetur Gross-Matos and Jeremy Chinn. This was a foundational draft for the Panthers, who seem to be expediting any kind of rebuilding process. At nearly every critical position this winter and spring, they’ve gotten cheaper, younger and faster

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
