Who in the hell are any of these guys and why am I watching them?

edit: I pied you because i'm the asshole.

They are both young players on the team for which you are a member of a fan message board of.

JAGs and the reason one went undrafted and the other SHOULD have.  S-O III looked horrible on so many different levels I don't know where to begin.  Bayless dropped an easy TD and couldn't do much with a guy given him 10 yards of cushion routinely.  Most of Bayless' damage was on routes taken advantage of zone coverage...namely crossing the field.

I doubt either make the final roster. S-O III was a pure projection pick.  I doubt he even makes the team as a STer.  Dude hates contact and isn't physical at all.  You can tell he's a former WR...zero aggressivness.

Better for getting a feel for Bayless

Bayless was useless outside the numbers against an SEC defense in UGA.  Stacked/bunched formations was relied upon to get any separation at all.   In-breaking routes against zone coverage for minimum gains is all he could muster.   I think all of his catches were for like 5-7 yards.  I get this dude was a monster in the Sun Belt Conference, but the NFL is far from that level of competition.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
