I kept hearing Trey Lance is the best QB out of the three, Im still about 40% sure Teddy can be the guy. Another thing is I hate drafting QB that high when nearly the whole team needs talent/depth. It could be a total waste of a 1st overall pick, if you need a whole OL...... like the panthers will need in 2021. David Carr could have been a top ten all-timer, but houstons expansion team ruined the poor guy.

If we don't plan on actually putting an OL in front of our next franchise QB, then we should just do him a favor and pass on him.

It could change, but right now its looking like the panthers will need a entire starting OL in 2021. Every starter but Paradis is a FA at seasons end and hes at the cut part of his contract.(not to mention his level of play) Top back Reed is a FA, same for Larsen. Only Daley and Little remain..... At this point Id prefer a stud LT over the 3 QBs. Thats gos against everything I believe too. Team is just very far away form being stable, need a perfect 2 years just to get there, "stable". Rhule is at the wheel and lets see where we're going.

We have a new coach, two new coordinators.  All three combined have had a cup of coffee in the nfl.  Our schedule is brutal.  We are relying on rookies, journeyman and 2nd year players on defense.  Our offensive line is one of the worst in the league.

All we have going for us is a good wr and really good rb.

Our starting corners are eli apple and d Jackson.

Now please tell me how we win 8 games

Lmao. Gawd, you are blind.

For like the 5th time I will ask.  Tell me what I posted is wrong and what am I missing that gets this team to 8 wins.

All you guys are posting vague things and insults

Some of what you say is opinion and not fact.  Even if everything you are saying is true, it is not enough to confidently say that they are the worst team in the NFL.

"O line is one of the worst in the NFL" is your opinion. Fact is it is a totally different Oline than last year with a different coach.  We have no idea how they will perform.

"All we have going for us is a good wr and a really good rb" is your opinion.  We have a lot of starting talent, but not a lot of depth.

My opinion is that we will have a top offense this year, but our defense will stuggle early.  I believe we will be picking in the range of 8-12.  It is just my opinion, but it is more realistinc than number 1.

Again the real point is that we wont get the number 1 pick because we are not going to tank, while other teams will actively be tanking to get your golden boy.  Even if we do try to tank, our last game of the year is against the Saints who will make sure we dont get that number one pick.

I can't see us having a top offense with Teddy at QB behind this OL. My opinion is that our offense will likely be somewhere around middle of the pack, the D will likely be bottom 5, and we're contending for the #1 overall pick. The offense may end up with a better ranking padding stats against prevent defenses because our D has the potential to be the worst in the league.

It is going to be about pre-snap reads and getting the ball out quickly.  The just signed an all-purpose back to play behind Bonnefon and CMC, we have three very fast, athletic WRs. Play to your strengths.  Long balls need good OL--pre-snap reading QBs who have good timing and accuracy are just as dangerous and more consistent.  They do not need a great OL.  Seriously, once we add a stud TE---and Thomas could step up---this offense will be good.  I would rather have the ball in Samuel's or CMC's hands three seconds into the play that the QB's hands at the end of a five step drop, waiting to see if he can drop a 40-yard pass in the bucket.

I don't buy the idea that he is a just a "bridge" QB.  You don't pay a baby sitter $60m (or $40m for 2 years), you have coaches that get paid to teach young players.  Also you can find cheap vet QBs every offseason.  Someone in the origination thinks he has a chance to flourish in our new system.

The fact he does know the system somewhat, and the fact that he might be a good mentor is a bonus, and was probably part of the discussion, but that doesn't change the fact if you pay a guy that much you think he has a chance to be your franchise QB.

The other thing that concerns me, is that we are paying him to become something he really never has.  We are hoping he becomes better in our system, it is akin to what we did with the Matt Kahil contract.  Paying a player based on what you "hope" he can become is a risky gamble.

Personally I won't be shocked if he plays well, but I'm not sure if I would have took the risk.

Saving your cap space and your draft picks would have been the safer play, this will be a pretty defining decision for the new regime.

Personally, the only way I see it as the correct decision is if he play so well that we don't feel the need to draft a QB next year.
