CMC is the best all-around RB in the NFL. DJ Moore is an emerging elite WR. I think Burns will develop into an All-Pro pass rusher. Derrick Brown will be reminiscent of prime Kris Jenkins. I don't think Gross-Matos will be elite, but I think he could be Mike Rucker-ish. Chinn is super intriguing. I'm not sure if he'll ultimately stay at safety or move to LB, but the dude's athletic tools are absolutely elite.

Teddy just isn't a very good NFL QB. Seems like a great guy. Definitely knows Brady's system. But, he's a stop gap and his contract screams that. If any team thought he was a legit NFL QB, he wouldn't have signed a three year deal that can easily become a two year deal.

I don't think we know what kind of QB that Teddy really is, but, based upon his so-far-disjointed career due to mainly injury, I think it's a wee bit of a stretch to say "Teddy just isn't a very good NFL QB." That's simply crazy talk based upon his win-loss percentage alone considering all he's had to deal with that set up his dearth of any real opportunity but for his rookie season.

He has won games when surrounded by elite teams. He won't have that this year. Funny how the QB is the only guy on the roster who carries a record.

Panther’s defensive rank since 2011 and super bowl winner defensive rank:

2011: 27

SB : 25

2012: 18

SB 12

2013: 2

SB 1

2014: 21

SB 8

2015: 6

SB 4

2016: 26

SB 1

2017: 11

SB 4

2018: 19

SB 7

2019: 31

SB 7

For being a defensive guru Rivera easily averaged in the bottom of the league his time here. I’m sure the offense looks even worse. Looking at general rankings, it’s baffling how he managed to lose SB50.

A defense is still more important than a high powered offense when it comes to winning a championship.

"Elite" teams! Come on, man! Good teams, yes, but elite? Nah! Even the mighty Drew Brees couldn't get last year's team ove the hump.

I'm sure we're working towards being elite. We're rebuilding, and I don't think any QB is going to take our 2020 team to the dance!

The Saints were 13-3. Yeah, they were elite.

Way I look at it, Teddy B will probably not be as good as Cam in his prime, but will absolutely be an upgrade over Allen and whoever else we had last year. He has the potential to be the 2nd best QB in team history. I’d say right now he’s on par with Delhomme.

If he can be as good or better than Delhomme, we can be a very good team.

1. Temper your expectations for Teddy this year. He likely won't deserve the amount of hate and discontent thrown his way for what may end up being a pretty rough season(not as much for him as the team).

2. He isn't likely to put up across the board elite statistics at any point in his Panthers career. This doesn't mean he is a bum.

3. Teddy Bridgewater is never going to be prime Cam Newton. Don't throw shade at Teddy for not being an elite talent and don't throw shade at Teddy if he doesn't perform as well as Cam did or does. You can crush management and ownership all you like but if you turn on Teddy to come in here hyping up Cam and cheering for the Pats, go ahead and burn your Panthers fan card. We don't need you or want you.

4. Support Teddy while he is your QB, even if you don't necessarily believe in him as a long term answer. Hoping he does terrible or reveling in it doesn't do much good unless we somehow turn that into an elite QB in the draft. Otherwise you are just hating the team irrationally. Sucking...well...sucks. I don't get any enjoyment out of watching my team stink.

    • He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.
    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
