What are you looking forward to in our week one match up?

1. The young potential "core" players. Brown, Moore, Burns, Chinn, Pride, YGM, etc. Let's hope we see that all these guys are going to be a part of the franchise for many years to come.

2. Joe Brady's offense and the coaching in general. Time to find out what the initial impressions will be.

3. CMC's usage in the new offense. Are we going to see a continuation of running the wheels off of him or is this offense finally going to have some balance?

4. Special teams. We have a very thin roster as it is, will this show up in our coverage and return teams, as well? Are we going to see stability at the kicking positions or a never ending stream of free agents in an attempt to shore up kicking and/or punting?

5. Effort. Even if we struggle and take a bunch of lumps, will we see constant effort from the team?

That last one is the most important to me. I really don't want to see a young staff leading a young team that starts to get demoralized as the season progresses. Probably not something we will see for weeks but I am going to be paying close attention to the players and how they are reacting to adversity.

Will be interested to see how badly Rhule is outcoached by Jon Gruden of all people

well, as far as pure coaching goes....I think the game will say more about our new coordinators than anything.

Rhule is kinda like a Dabo IMO.   For him to be successful, he has to have the coordinators.   College football wasn't use to defending the Saints NFL offense.  The NFL?   Well, they are use to seeing the top tier variation of it.   But I think Joe Brady will be good long term.  I don't think his offense is going to come out like world beaters though.   Our new DC has a lot to show IMO.

Confirmation that Rhule belongs in the NFL and all the nepotistic hires and player signing weren't a mistake. I like him but I just need a little confirmation.

These guys are more bottom of the roster guys that will help him instill the type of mentality he wants his players to have.

Mainly two things- Adjustments and mental&physical shape of the panthers.

I feel those are the most important, by far during each early games. No pre-season games, no OTAs, and a weird training camp puts the whole coaching staff and players on notice. It will be easy to see who came in shape and which coaches have taught the best system. Commutation and working out, basically are you ready or not.

That's what the richest Owner in the NFL believes we can do. I believe him, yo! HAHA.

Speaking of, since you have your head on straight. Some QB's in College to look out for (this weekend) in case we're "too good" to pickup one of the big names (Fields & TL) early next year.

Spencer Rattler. OU's new QB. Supposedly, he's Mahomes like. Very confident, and has the weapons to succeed. Should be available in the 2022 Draft.

Sam Howell-I loved watching Howell last year, and UNC returns a lot of talent on offense. But, I feel their defense is so bad, we will see how good the offense has to be. If he's in shootout games, I believe he has the moxie to lead UNC over opponents in the fourth quarter.

Brock Purdy-Love his game. Iowa State's weapons are better this year, and I believe Purdy is an absolute stud. He needs to put up better numbers to be considered a fringe first rounder though.

Sam Ehlinger-Yeah, not a fan of this guys game. His downfield accuracy is anemic most of the time, and Texas always has a ton of weapons and has under performed with him at QB. If he's mediocre again this year, his Draft stock will tumble like it did last year.

@Jeremy Igo Would it make sense to make a CFB QB thread every week with potential QB's for us? And update their stats? Would make sense for the next two seasons.

Ummm...

16/35 for 145 yards 0 TDs and an INT in a 31-14 loss to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

He needs to put up better numbers than that to be considered fringe draftable.

1. Young defensive line learning and growing. I am also excited about Brown and think he is going to open things up for our DEs. Burns and YGM should get plenty of single blockers to beat this year with KK and Brown in the middle.

2. Fast pace offense with Teddy throwing to CMC, Moore and Samuel in space. Anderson will hopefully keep the defense honest and open things up underneath. Joe Brady should have fun with all of our weapons on offense.

1.  Its been a sucky year, and NFL football might mean we are beginning to return to some semblance of normal.

2. Football wise, the Panthers are a complete unknown this year, but I would like to see how much potential they have to be good in the future.    It will be nice if our dline does not allow average running backs to look like all pro's.

This is what I’m watching as A Raider fan , in their week one matchup with the Panthers.    1. How will Lamarcus Joyner fare at nickel cb,( he was horrible in that role last year , and needs to play a lot better this season.( this is the matchup that scares me the most.2. Corey Littleton is known as pretty good cover lb, but covering C McCaffrey is very tough matchup for anyone.( don’t think you’re looking to shut him down , but contain him as best as possible.3. With five to six new  starters on defense how well is the communication out there. 4.   Who Do the Panthers put on Te Darren Waller ( easy a too fiveTe) whose  a mismatch whoever they put on him.( outside of Josh Jacobs , this is the guy the panthers must stop- will line up occasionally at Wr  .  5. Want to see Gruden open up the offense- Carr has so many weapons at his disposal now, one of best offense offense lines, that criminal just to pound the rock down  opposing teams throat.( he has to show he can compete with A Reid in utilizing his weapons.

CMC will torch who ever you put on him and Raiders were proven to not go far so enjoy all the Raiders losing record.
