Panthers will "light up the scoreboard today".

I don't doubt the Panthers score some points today. McCaffrey is unguardable. But can the defense force a turnover or two? Can they stop a few drives to give us the edge? Which team will make a mistake? If the Panthers can play mistake free football, we might actually see a close game and maybe even a win.

I am down with this. To me the biggest crack in the offense's armor going into the game would be an Oline that hasn't had time to gell leading to pressure on Teddy that creates turnovers. If the oline holds up against the rush, I do think this offense could put up significant numbers and should be fun to watch.

I think the defense will be better than advertised.  I think we will win 31-30.

The one thing that's likely to carry over from Rivera (at least initially) is we look to be a defense that'll be a lot more threatening up front than on the back end.

I'm hoping Phil Snow changes that giv n time, but right now my expectations are low.

Wow.  Bold proclamation.  I hope we can back it up...  excited about the whole team, but the more I've thought about it, leading up to GameDay, i'm worried about Waller and Ruggs versus our secondary...  but, I think the front 7 can be scary good and hide the secondary until they catch up.

    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
    • Alright man! We're here for it! Just glad you're keeping the doors open!
    • I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't. Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.
