Steve Smith admits he was a "Dick" to Cam

I hate when people that don't know how the Panthers roll always bring up the release of Smitty. He legit was a complete ass hole to Cam. Management and Gettlemen wanted Cam to be the leader going forward. Smitty didn't want to wait around for Cam to "get it." Smitty still probably wanted Jake Delhomme to be his QB, if we're honest.

And now those same people who don’t know anything are doing the same thing over the release of Cam

In a few years I’m sure it’ll be the same thing with CMC

If Smith was great to Cam, Gettleman would have likely sucked it up and kept him.

I mean

Gettleman is pretty petty himself.

I can entirely see him cutting Steve if he was an asshole to him.

I'll take a dick HOF receiver over a dick mediocre receiver all day.

Nobody cares about the dick who caught 20-30 passes a season for 3-4 years before washing out of the league. The only reason Smith gets all the notoriety is because he was in the league for a long time and will be in the HOF.

There are a lot more great players in every sport who are/were dicks than we want to accept or believe for some reason.

I love to pay you whatever you want to say that to Steve in person

he never won a fight. he sucker punched 2 people. you know who does that - people that can't fight. you know who walks around acting like he does?  people that can't fight and don't want to.  i mean if i were angie or his kids i'd be scared of him.  besides that he's just a little dude

I'm gonna get poo'd for this, but the best receiver to put in a Panthers uniform in my mind is in my profile pic. Steve's best years came with Moose drawing quite a bit of attention. Not trying to downplay Smitty, but for me (again completely a personal opinion) Moose will be my all time favorite WR. Like Pep when he left he was dead to me, and when he returned I embraced him with open arms. The Anderson/Moore duo have the potential to be even better than the Smitty/Moose duo was and that paired with CMC is more enticing than the anything we have had in a long time.

    • Thin sliced roast beef, provolone, and roasted bell peppers on a toasted sub roll.  At least one thing is going right today. I don't trust anyone who's never put Bugles on their fingertips to make witch fingers.
    • But yeh,  Bryce is the only problem on this sorry excuse of a team. You could put Tom Brady on this team and we would still suck . Worst part is Tepper and his various band of clowns have been trying to build a competitive team for 7 freaking years and are no closer now than when it all started.
    • Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient.  Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant.  There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge.
