It's Falcons Week Ya'll - Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons thread

That's right, it is Falcons week.

In 2020 the Carolina Panthers are a young upstart playing hard and overachieving. The Falcons are exactly the opposite. Old, established, and 0-4.

However, they will get a win eventually, and that makes them dangerous. They could be eyeballing Carolina as a "get right" game right now, as other teams on the schedule have done.

What are your thoughts on this game?

Entering Monday Night Football, Julio Jones was considered questionable. His night would end after just one half of play.

The Falcons announced early in the second half that their star receiver would not return against the Packers after re-aggravating the hamstring injury that initially jeopardized his status.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Jones was dragged down awkwardly on a play in the first half and was in some discomfort on the sideline. He added that Jones stretched it out and came back into the game, but never re-emerged from the locker room after halftime.

The 31-year-old receiver has been dealing with the same nagging hamstring issue off and on in recent weeks. Jones missed Week 3 against the Bears because of the injury and was limited in practice in the days leading up to Monday's contest.

Prior to its premature end, Jones' night did feature a bit of history as the multi-time Pro Bowler passed Falcons legend Roddy White to become the franchise's all-time receptions leader (809). He accomplished the feat in the first quarter after hauling in his first target for eight yards. He caught all four of his targets for 32 yards.

He will miss practice at the very least.

If he doesn't play, the game becomes much more winnable for the Panthers, obviously.

Is Ridley back or is he out again?

i saw him on the field but it seems ryan was favoring some cat named gage on 3rd down instead of calvin.

i can't stand the falcons and it feels like fighting someone who has beat you up the last 10 times you fought.

    • Decided last minute to to take family to game.  Cheap tickets sec 134 (which is kindof sad in of itself) made the 10 hour roundtrip and glad as hell I did.   - Defense played out of their mind.  Mike Jack smithwade looking at you -Penix is fuging terrible, not worried about him at all - Falcons, wtf were you doing, running when you should be passing and vice versa.  Why the fug didnt you run the ball on us?  - Canales, I get you are green but damn man tighten up your time management  - We won so not going to bag on Bryce too much but yeah man to argue he isnt limited is lol funny - We finally have a kicker and that feels kindof good all things considered - someone earlier mentioned tepper and we didnt see him in the box the entire game, not sure what thats about -Chubba, Sanders and Tet took some absolute monster shots and popped back up, not sure how they do it because it sounds horrific.  Chubba took one right in front of us and he got up laughing.  wow
    • My exact list for the shout outs in the same order (though I admittedly had the rookie edges @ #4 and Fitz @ #1)
    • Yesterday was also the first time we saw all three phases of this team play complimentary football during not just Canales' tenure but Young's as well. While he didn't have to light it up through the air, he did spread the ball around to nine different players. TMac's drops hurt, but the team was able to rally still thanks to the defense finally getting to play with a lead. Plus, TMac still had his positive moments like the catch and run as well as the poster-shot he created by climbing the ladder. I hope that this lit a fire under XL. With Tremayne's emergence and Coker coming back from IR in the next 1 - 3 weeks there is going to be less patience with his issues. Let's not forget though the most important thing to watch for: how XL responds to the adversity. Nobody is going to have a perfect career, but how they handle the down lows will be what gives them a chance to get back to experiencing the highs again.
