which is what some of us were saying. 

I’m still fine with the contract tbh.  Mike Davis is probably gone after this year with the way he’s been playing.  Someone will offer him more than we’re able. 
 

it was a steep payday, but he’s so electric and with the way this coaching staff has been and how they seem to actually learn, utilize players, etc., I’m hoping we’ll be able to use CMC more creatively.  I’d like to see him run more routes, personally.  It’s a great part of his game we haven’t really taken advantage of

But it is also true EVERY offense is less predictable when you take the super stud out.

It can be a little bit of a "no win" for coaches sometimes.

Leave your best player in? "You're gonna run him into the ground!"

Take him out: "Why the hell are you taking our best player off the field when we need him?!"

I've always been a fan of the hot hand approach. Have a set of plays for both but if one back seems to be the more effective you feed him the ball that game.

The second part is less of a concern after seeing Davis play. We need to be getting him reps moving forward because he is able to be as effective as CMC. 

It was so frustrating to see CMC sucking wind in the 4th quarter last year as we gassed him out with the extreme usage rates. We have a guy that can spell him. Use him.

CMC is a legit slot WR so fugit have Mike Davis run the ball and have our 3 outs be the most legit in team history.

Where that most commonly comes into play is if you run something with the backup that doesn't work. Then the fans start saying "If we'd have had the starter in..."

If coaches care about that, then they aren't doing their jobs. 

We've seen CMC come up short in those situations multiple times. He isn't a deity, if the blocking isn't there, he isn't going to be successful either.

Sure, they are less predictable. But CMC is a big weapon in the redzone that we don't have right now. When the Panthers play against tougher defenses, redzone production becomes super difficult without stars.
