It's insane to me people are actually defending that throw.

everyone who's been critical of teddy has given him a ton of allowances on this game. it's the people loudly taking up for him that can't admit jesus christ himself couldn't have teleported under that ball in time to catch it

I normally do not agree with you here but this is spot on.

If D.J. is supposed to be a #1 WR he's gotta come down with thoses. Those are the off kilter throws Ryan, Ben and Hopkins used to throw to Julio, Brown and Nuk respectively.

D.J. was more of a let down than Teddy today.

Lol jj and Hopkins are elite WRs not just ones.

This thread about Teddy or DJ Moore?

Let's see if you can answer honestly.

it's about teddy, because we are trying to determine whether or not teddy is a franchise quarterback, because if he's not we need to get one. this couldn't be simpler.

moore dropped a game-changing ball in the end zone at the end of the first half. he needs work. he deserves criticism. he's not a quarterback however and we don't need him to be a franchise guy. this couldn't be simpler

Teddy wasn’t about to get killed. DJ was wide open. Teddy could have and should have thrown a much better ball than that. It’s still early in the season and he could still ball out but this wasn’t a good Teddy game. And he sealed the game with the next INT on a ball he had no business throwing.

Fair enough. I look forward to him bouncing back. This was the best defense he will face all season.

Oh yea I forgot about that one...some pluses are that our coaches are so good we were -3 TO margin, 2 dropped/missed TD passes and we only lose by 1 score....still a lot to be happy about.

Even on college this weekend a poo QB in a similar play just threw the ball to the wide part of the field and had the WR run to it....TB tried to hit him instead of lead him which is always a mistake in wide open plays like that.

Exactly and we went against an elite defense today with literally no elite talent anywhere on offense.

D.J. has had consistency problems even outside of this game. Moreso than Teddy.

Putting the blame on Teddy -- who made several big time throws today all dropped by DJ -- and ignoring the lack luster effort or just middling playbfrom players like Thomas, Moore, and even everyone's favorite Davis today is asinine agenda pushing

    • Sure if you just blindly look at stats, you can pinpoint a couple areas that look similar. But come on man that's lazy analysis. Instead of throwing lower percentage throws, Dalton held onto the ball unconscionably long, leading to several of those sacks including that unthinkable one at the end of the first half, inflating his completion percentage. Bryce for all his flaws, does a pretty good job of escaping pressure and scrambling for 5 yards or throwing it away. Dalton's pocket presence was just so incredibly bad today, which led to both of his lost fumbles. If Bryce would just hold onto the ball and get sacked every 3rd play instead of throw it away or try a contested pass, his completion percentage would be 15 points higher than Dalton's today. And Bryce only had more yardage in 3 of 7 games? You mean when we played run heavy schemes in our wins, instead of Dalton being forced to throw all game cause we're getting blown out?  Look anyone is more than justified in arguing Bryce Young doesn't have the tools to lead this team to a super bowl. But he has been head and shoulders better this year than what Dalton showed today. That was just an abysmal perfomance.
    • 100% correct.    we also have a team that is completely incapable of responding to adversity. The first sign of trouble and the team just unravels. I think that says a lot about coaching more than anything. It can also be explained with the amount of youth we have playing key roles on offense and defense.
    • He's not elevating anyone around him and will never be that kind of qb. He is what he is. He will always need a good team around him to play his best. His best is not a game changer but game manager. If you accept that then you will understand what the outlook is going forward.
