Our next quarterback

Let’s see if Teddy bounces back this week before giving away next years entire draft to get a great college QB that has never played a down in the NFL  I don’t see the Packers benching Rodgers this week for Love. He played much worse against the Bucs then Teddy did against the Bears.

Are we really comparing Teddy Bridgewater to Aaron Rodgers?

We were all over Herbert in the draft and Teddy's contract screams stopgap. I think it's almost certain that's the case. Teddy was signed to be our QB for right now. I don't think he was ever considered the long-term solution.

I have watched the Cuse and FSU game.

Tell me what I am missing here.  1100 yards 64% 9td 4int

I am not saying he sucks but from what i have seen and looking at his stats he isnt better than Trevor as you have mentioned in the past.  Sometimes its helps to take off blinders no matter what team  you pull for.

Howell isn’t a physical marvel or any of that but he can throw the rock big time.  He reminds me of Baker Mayfield with a little stronger arm.

I think we run a perfect O for Teddy to thrive in and he continues to show who he has always been while playing around his ceiling. I completely belive once the team is built up we will need a franchise QB to turn us from playoff caliber team to a championship contender.

I do not think we need to trade up to such a crazy extent. We have a lot of team to build, maybe we get a guy this year or next year. If Brady leaves, what does that mean for Teddy? We shouldn't be wasting entire draft classes for one player, let alone adding more capital in the wrong direction. Let Alex play and look for Mahomes. That should be the example we are following at QB for now.

Teddy will be the quarterback in Carolina for the next 10 years

Lol, no. Teddy is mediocre and will hold this team back. He isn’t a franchise QB. We have already seen his ceiling this season and the previous he played in.
He isn’t going to transform into a 35 TD QB and he will never be able to carry this team. He is currently on pace for 16 TDs and 13 INTs. He is a stop gap and the FO are idiots if they actually think he has a chance at being a legitimate franchise QB.

    • People are using this "three year period" to gloss over the reality that he was very mid last year and in Purdy's case, "last year" means 40% of his starts. I don't "hate" Purdy, I just think he's a very middle of the pack starter and you can't pay those guys $50M+ a year. GMs and coaches can because they just want to keep their jobs. But as a fanbase if you're wanting to compete for SBs, ugh... you're basically resigning yourself to mediocrity with decisions like this.
    • Unless a miracle happens and we're legit SB contenders, I want to just miss the playoffs due to some close losses, not win the division to lose in the first round. We finally have all of our picks again next year, I'd rather be picking 5-7 spots higher in each round, while at the same time, then having a 2nd or 3rd place schedule next year instead of a 1st place one. I just can't see any scenario where we are true contenders this year, but we should find out if Bryce can be our QB of the future.  If he isn't, then we're not making the playoffs anyways and will have a high pick to replace him.  If he is, it means 2026 is the real opening of our SB window once we add some more defensive pieces, so I'd rather go into that season picking earlier and have an easier schedule. And yes, I know people will say think like "you need to win to gain confidence and experience, blah blah blah" But just missing out on the playoffs because you lost couple close games is certainly a way to make a team hungry going into the offseason and keep them motivated to be better. I've said it before and still think it holds true, we need to look at the Lions and hope to repeat their path. Our last few years were their early 2020s when they sucked.  This year can be our version of their 2022 when they missed the playoffs in week 17.  Then our 2026 can be their 2023 when they made a run to the NFC Championship game (and really should have won it).  Which then puts us in line to be one of the best teams in the league going into 2027, as they were last year.
    • Hmmmmm, sounds like a familiar fear And sure, a big part of my fear was the injury concern (that will always follow Bryce around) but the everything else I said is the same. If he's too good to let walk in FA but not good enough to justify a top end contract, we're in the worst possible situation
