Eagles making young safety available for trade

Parks is 26, 6'1 / 208 and signed a one-year contract with the Eagles this season after playing for the Broncos for the last few years. Speculation is he's being let go because there's a "logjam" at safety.

I'm not that familiar with him but I have read a few people say they're surprised the Eagles are parting with him as opposed to someone else. 

I can't really say yea or nay, but given our safety situation, it caught my attention.

Only if we like him enough to re-sign him and make him part of our core for the future. I mean, another DB the Eagles parted ways with is currently our #1 CB.

First thing that crossed my mind when I read the title of the thread. Could be that Schwartz just is putting DBs in a position to fail.

I’d offer one of the compensatory 6ths we’re projected to get in exchange for their 7th and Parks and see if they go for it.

Worst case scenario is we drop down like 20 spots at the end of the draft if he sucks and this would be worth that risk.

I'd offer them our second round pick this draft for him, if they agree to take our entire OL except for Moton and Okung.  I doubt that would be enough for them to take the trade.

I don't know anything about Will Parks, but at least he is young enough to be part of the future if he does work out.  If we could get him for a low round choice (maybe what Bartin said), we are just betting he is better than somebody we would pick up with a late round pick AND if he does look even decent, we can re-sign him.

I'm glad to hear we may be getting a late comp pick or two next year.  We don't have a 7th (due to some trade with the Bills iirc), and if he's worth a 6th then ok, but I'd hate to think we'd only have 5 picks in next years draft (unless we trade back).

From what I read briefly, he isn't that athletic and had tackling issues.

We need to resign Moton and Douglas this offseason. I’m not wanting to trade any of our picks as of right now because we might be in the top 10 and this staff looks like they are good at drafting.

so we should get a 6th and 7th if everything is ok.  With that said, I'm cool with trading our 6th, which would be in the top 15 picks (and a comp 6th being at the end of the 6th) if we think this guy is worth it.  I'd rather offer a 2022 7th, or make it conditional.

If we think he's worth it.  Otherwise, I think we drafted well this year, and I'm in no hurry to win this season.  If he's a future piece, ok, but if he's unathletic and has tackling issues, we already have plenty of those guys.

Does anyone know how long Burris is scheduled to be out or if he is done for the year?  I thought he was playing pretty well before getting hurt.

I don’t see much point in trading away any assets at this point, since we’re halfway through the season and not a playoff contender.  Now if they want to do a player for player trade then maybe, but even then, not sure he’d be the right target for that scenario either.

Burris was solid prior to the injury and were getting a good look at some young guys who’d otherwise never have a chance to see live action.
