Will Bridgewater complete a single game winning drive in the 4th quarter this season?

It’s amazing how there seems to be a chance to win or tie the game in every single loss this season, and in every single loss this team finds new and mind numbing ways to fail. Those failures seem to center around QB Teddy Bridgewater.

So sound off here, will Teddy prove us wrong and actually go and complete a game winning drive in the 4th quarter this season? And what does it mean if he doesn’t?

With all the opportunities we're getting surely someone will eventually break off a big play or something. Teddy probably isn't winning us any games. That's just not who he is as a QB.

I don't disagree . . . but isn't that something you should want in a QB?  A guy who can win you some games when you're close in the 4th?

At some point I'm sure Teddy will have a game winning drive, but he isn't showing a propensity for being clutch.  Not a good luck for a long term guy to build around.  So, we probably go in another direction longer-term.

But the offense was good enough to win today - and many days - with slightly better play from the defense.

I don't understand how we can't force punts.

Oh, it's absolutely something you should want. I think Teddy is the QB for right now. I don't think Teddy is the long-term plan. His contract screams stop gap.

I still think we can package Teddy and our first for a top QB pick.

What team picking ahead of us in the draft would want Teddy? I think we definitely grab one of the top 4 QBs even if we have to trade more draft capital to get him, but I don't think that QB will start his rookie year. Teddy will play the Alex Smith role, and he's a great option for that.

Guys, this is the same issue the 2013 and 2014 Panthers had with Cam... Young teams have to LEARN how to win the close one's. How many close games did the Panthers lose in those early years with Cam, then in 2015 it all came together and they figured it out.

It's all about being a young inexperienced team... Everyone want's instant gratification these days. Sure... it's frustrating to lose close games, really today though they fell behind by 9 points with not a lot of time left. Coming back from that was asking a lot against the super bowl champs at THEIR house.

I do not think this team was expected to be very good this year yet... Give them some time, they will figure it out.

Giants have been really dumb lately. I’d call them.

Saying we were down 9 late and asking for a miracle comeback ignores the fact we were up by more than that early.

2013 we lost like 2 close games early in the year and then won 11 of 12 to close out the season...  2014 was a disaster and had nothing to do with learning how to win close games.

    • I get what you’re saying but the reason I think his mentality underscores it all is that he did have legitimately solid and sometimes even good games at the end of last year after his bench, and against some good teams (PHI, Tampa, KC)   but that was only after the season was shot and everyone thought he was done for. then once he had to play a meaningful game on Sunday he crumbled right back to pre bench form. It’s like he’s only able to when it *doesnt* matter  But all just semantics tbh, we both agree that he ain’t it lol
    • I'm still a big Bryce supporter. I don't look much at his rookie year as that only deepened the hole he has to climb out of. I see this past game as the 1st of his 2nd year.  Judge him based off of his play after his benching.  No argument that is play those first two games last year were about as bad as it gets.  No question. This is the start of year 2 for Canales and he was out coaches against the Jags but I like his process and how he goes about things.  I like that he, Morgan and Tillis seem like a unit and on the same path. Saying we never should have drafted him based on his height and weight is a valid opinion but he was a universal top pick in the draft and elite talent coming out.  I have seen little evidence those are still issues.  He is physical enough to take some monster hits and I don't see a limit to his passing due to his height. The lack of arm strength is a tired argument.  He has the physical ability to make all the necessary NFL throws.   Of course he doesn't have the cannon Cam did coming out but he also doesn't have Cams accuracy and throwing with touch issues.  They are different players and Bryce has a ton of work to do just to be in Cams shadow. Bryce IS part of the problem but he isn't the problem.  His play the last half of the season last year was impressive and showed a ton of growth and improvement. Outside of Horn, Nola and Chuba the whole team and staff looked severely off and not ready.   If Dave calls a great game and other players play average NFL level football and Bryce still plays like this that is when we'll actually have as big an issue at QB as the haters believe. The issues are team wide and it's one game. Also, I like Tepper.
    • They aren't credited with drops.   That's just PFF.  Not sure why they are still being pimped this hard when week 1 really highlights how bad they can be at times.  Especially when they manufactured Bryce's grade like they did.  Some 1984 stuff going on there....PFF telling folks not to believe their eyes and ears.
