Remember when we weren't interested in Greg Roman?

This is reminiscent of what the Broncos were saying about us after SB50. They were borderline shocked and fighting back straight up laughter about how we changed up literally nothing. We didn't do a single thing we hadn't already shown on film throughout the playoffs. Not so much as a wrinkle added.

this will never stop hurting

Not sure if it happened exactly in that manner, but yes there was a story that Rivera said in a practice setting that there was no real need to change much of anything because what they were doing was working.

Ron truly is an idiot and terrible head coach.

To be fair though no one but Atlanta has stopped us and the Broncos needed not only two great rush ends but some serious help from the refs. They basically took Cams head off that game. If all were fair and just I really think we would have rolled that team like everyone else. After the league figured out it was ok to target Cams head that was the end to our run. Not saying Shula was a great OC but more that once you allow a QB to get hit like that and on the other side of the ball you're calling head taps that's a huge advantage.

SO.

EFFING.

TRUE.

Roman's response is essentially that it's nothing new, pointing out that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed used to do that all the time. "Part of the chess match" he calls it. He also added that empty stadiums make it easier to hear the calls.

Regardless of who you put it on, it sounds like quarterback and OC aren't on the same page.

Well the HOF type of players do that.  How many times did we hear about Luke calling out other teams plays.

Those that study intently their opponent know what is about to come.

Living near Baltimore this is a big topic of conversation on all the talk shows and social media.

You have the camp that's blaming Lamar Jackson for not doing his job as well as he did last you. It's pretty hard to maintain MVP level play tbh.

You have a different camp that blames the OC for not adjusting his plays to look the same as other plays but having different play designs.

You have a third camp that blames injuries to the offense line where they've lost two All-Pros from last year (Marshall Yanda & Ronnie Stanley).

In all actuality it's a combination of all three. The OC didn't have time in this COVID shortened offseason to put in new plays he would've liked and the plays that worked so well last year aren't because of OLine play and opponents having film on this. This leads to Lamar getting frustrated and not playing within the offense. Watching plenty of Lamar he seems to get worse as a QB the more frustrated he gets.

At the end of the day they're 6-2 and will probably demolish the Patriots on SNF this week. So all will be forgotten.

I literally felt that it was a loss after the infamous no catch from Cotchery. That and knowing that the head ref was biased in Denver's favor. That and having a gut feeling that the NFL wouldn't send Peyton off without a SB win. Oh well.
