Panthers WRs

This is going to sound controversial, but I don't think Curtis Samuel is as difficult to replace in this offense as some may think.  Young WRs are booming in the league right now, and it isn't like we need a #1 or even a #2 with Robby signed for another year.  I wouldn't mind drafting one in the 2nd or 3rd round, or seeing who is available in free agency first, if Curtis Samuel is out of our price range.

I don't consider him a priority re-signing.

Some team is going to offer him #1 WR money this offseason, he's as good as gone

Congratulate him and wish him the best of luck then. Take the 3rd round comp pick and move on. I honestly don't think he's getting #1 money, but I think someone is gonna offer him a multi-year contract in the $10-12M range. I don't think we should go there.

I'm agreeing with you, but we have heard the rumblings that the team really likes Curtis.

We shall see.

Who knows, Omar Bayless might be one of those unknown factors added to the equation that facilitates a seemingly unwelcome move and makes it no big deal.

Bayless is a redzone threat with his size. Still dont know how he went undrafted and his hands are crazy. If only we could teach him how to block, imo he'd make a damn good TE.

Lol I just want a TE ...Thomas isn't as advertised and Manhurtz let me down yesterday.

Add Bayless at TE, plus our current receivers and McCaffrey in the backfield. With a solid Oline = Goodluck game planning for that.

Interesting considering how many trade rumors we've heard about him. Maybe Rhule really likes him whereas Ron didn't?

Creative football vs. Stone Age football.

Maybe Rhule/Brady thinks he can do a lot more than the previous regime, or maybe they think they can get him for much cheaper than they will be able to extend DJ?

Either way, I think all 3 can easily be on the roster next year, with the following maybe being just DJ and Curtis, and either drafting a 3rd, or bringing in another FA.

WR Ranks per NextGen Stats (Min. 28 targets)

Avg. Cushion/ Separation at Target/ Depth of Target

Anderson --> 40th/ 36th/ 67th

Moore --> 59th/ 73rd/ 30th

Samuel --> 4th/ 4th/ 92nd

Samuel gets open and gets open quickly.  Moore is the deep threat but I wonder if the offense would run even better switching Anderson and Moore's roles.  Obviously they like Anderson's ability to separate more than Moore's YAC in that role right now.

Looks like they are jamming DJ trying not to let him get the ball and YACS. They're giving Samuel and their DBs cushion as not to get burned by his raw speed.

Person recently said that the Panthers view Anderson as their #1 receiver.
