That is great news all around. If he isn't 100%, don't put him out there again this year.

I'm pretty sure he's close to 100%. My guess is we probably didn't IR him the instance of playoffs which got really slim last week. Probably hedging our bets at this point that. If we get knocked out of the playoffs and he plays that'll be the dumb.

Even if we win out we'd still only have a 27% chance of making a wildcard spot so I could see him easily not playing for the rest of the season.

I thought someone said he tweaked his hammy or quad?

If he was 100%, I'm not sure what the team would have to do to keep him off the field. As much as I would like to put him of the shelf for the rest of the year regardless, I don't think that is how it works in real life.

I can’t believe the team even considered letting him play in the first place. And it has nothing to do with winning, tanking, draft position. He’s a RB with a shoulder injury. He has the opportunity to not get hit until August. That’s 8-9 months more rehab and rest before risking anything. Not too mention that he has gotten through most of a season without the normal beating that comes with that job. Which will help a ton in the next couple years when the Panthers are contenders and will need him as healthy as possible.

I had a feeling he might not play due to the quad injury he got during the bye week, and I think he got it lifting weights away from the facilitates (just a guess). It was bothering him and he had to come out of practice on Wednesday and tried to play it off like he felt great.

Unfortunately the Broncos have the worst starting QB in the NFL, and a dumpster fire roster. We will need to play a horrible game in order to lose to the Broncos.

Players are asked to play hurt regularly in football, it should all depend on the injury and risk. Old school thought is if it helps you win do it anyways. For a championship? I would. For a playoff game, maybe. For a regular season game in a year where you are not a serious contender and would have to fall into so much luck just to limp into the playoffs, hell no.

I'm just not sure how the locker-room is run at this point. As a fan I know what I want. What the coaches want, can pull off and how they regularly go about it is just unknown to me at this point. After years of not expecting very much of the coaching staff I'm in uncharted territory here. I can honestly say this doesn't feel the same as a Rivera injured player handling. Maybe it's a part of Rhule & Co's learning curve? Maybe all that was just part of the process when they really didn't think he would go but wanted to go through the process so CMC was happy?

It’s a December game. We always lose in December.

It's mind boggling to me. We infamously broke our last franchise player rushing him back to the field and they've just thrown all caution to the wind with McCaffery. We even have highly capable backups this time and they actively refuse to try and manage Christian's load at all.
