Coaches pick GMs now....eh well it was going the other way for so long why the fug not who is to say the GMs weren't picking shitty coaches this whole time and now we need a coach to pick a good GM. Like why would a GM know who would make a good HC and also which players play the best...

There are reasons that you need someone over the head coach to keep him from possibly damaging the team long term.

What if we had a GM who was strong enough to have told Ron to shut Cam down a LONG time before Ron was willing?  What if he understood the value of elite players, especially at the QB position for the longterm health of the club?

Right now Marty needs to be in Matt Rhules office telling him that CMC should be shut down for the rest of the year.  He isn't, he's too chickenshit to go against the head coach.

Hell Tepper himself had to force Marty to tell Ron to bench Cam....

Nah, I'll take a correct chain of command.

I am willing to fly to Charlotte, rent a frigging limousine, and drive Marty to DC.  If anybody wants to join me, we can split the cost of a driver to take the car and us back to Charlotte and stock the bar for the return trip.

Gotta be honest, I'm in...but you better be ready for a HELL of a party on the way back from our Nations Capitol.

I'm old, but I can still pound it down.  Maybe not like I did when I was 22, but my liver has developed well.

"Driver, I don't care if Charlotte is straight, turn right for the next 750 miles."

I mean, we can laugh, but we aren't exactly setting the World on fire with our handling of the front office here for the past damn near 20 years.

I don't drink, and while I use my fair share of expletives, I try not to drop F-bombs.

But if by the time we get to the start of next season, the WFT have a guy like Ryan Cowden and we're still sitting here with Marty Hurney, I might be ready to just say "@#$& it"and start drinking.

Getting up there in age myself, but getting rid of Marty would be cause for one hell of a celebration.

I said F it a while ago.

Yesterday was the first time I have ever been able to watch a Panthers game bell to bell, and chose not to pay attention.  Had some friends over, had the TV out on the deck, smoker rolling, beers in hand....paid attention about 15%.

Sad, but here we are.  Thank you Jerry, Ron, Marty and David, you have completely turned a die hard into a "wine and cheese" fan.

And the search will possibly include some names Panther fans have hoped for.

Mayhew was interviewed here at the same time as Lake Dawson.

He's also the guy who was in charge of the Lions team that went 0-16.

No mention of Marty by Breer, but if Rivera is making the call, you have to wonder.

What are the insiders saying about the short-list from which Tepper will be choosing the next Panthers GM?

And when?

Any names to share?
