Every time something like this happens, I remember how we wanted to take him in the first round.

Team could definitely be a lot worse if not for circumstances that saved us from ourselves once in a while.

Ourselves or Hurney? His annual IR event is in full swing I see.

Was there word on what his actual injury is or is this an "ow, my finger" thing?

Regardless, I didn't really think he was going to play another down for us anyway.

all I remember was a couple of healthy scratches, now somehow it appears he hurt his ankle.  How, I don't know.

Just look at Marty and Ron sitting up there thinking they've outsmarted everyone...

"He has the mental skills and knows the game of football"

Yikes!

If the pass rushers werrn't running right at him, Little would stand out there and look confused as to what he should do.

Mental skills? Yeesh!

I think he's still around in the hopes that he will improve enough to be a solid backup. Some people are slow learners and Little might take more time to get up to speed.

He's had two years practice but can't even handle basic aspects of the game.

He's already toast.

He'll be 23 when next season starts and he's not expensive. Trent Scott might be the starter next year, but Little could still come back as the backup. Not what we wanted from him, but if Scott keeps playing well and left tackle isn't a disaster, fine.

They deactivated him even when our other backup tackle was injured.

Said it before: If they don't want you in that situation, they don't want you.

To be a legitimate backup you have to play well enough to fill in for the starter. He has shown no ability to be even a backup at this point, that's been Scott. Unless we are trying to kill the QB, this guy isn't on our team next year. As far as bringing him back to camp next year, well that will prove how the coaches think of him. He isn't going to turn into a butterfly for us, he would be lucky to turn into a moth at this point and lifelong worm is the most likely outcome where this guy is out of the NFL soon. What a failure all the way around.

The fact we had this guy as a round 1 talent is horrifying. What a massive failure and waste he has been at a position we still don't have an answer for.

On the flipside...

You can fracture your throat?

Yeah I read yesterday it’s really rare. Like 1 in 30,000 people. If not treated carefully it can be life-threatening, which it makes sense since it’s your throat. Didn’t know it was a thing til I read yesterday either.

He tried to trade up to #21...I am not a capologist, but seeing that we already had Burns, we would have had to give up a very high 2020 pick to move up for him....I am guessing that we would have surrendered last year's second rounder (as we did) and the third rounder (as we did) and this year's second rounder.

So basically, Hurney tried to spend what would be DE Gross Matos or S Jeremy Chinn to move up as far as he wanted.

I will let that sink in.

The rest of his draft:  Grier, Scarlett, Miller, Daley, Scarlett, and Godwin....

Only oft-injured Daley is showing promise--and he can't stay healthy.

So the move Marty could not make was his best move of the 2019 draft.

I cannot believe I am the first in this thread to say it but "Fire Hurney".  This is so bad.  A 2nd and a 3rd for a complete waste of a pick

Marty Meatballs 2nd-3rd rd picks since he's been back

2018:

Donte Jackson

Rashaan Gaulden (cut after 1 year)

2019:

Greg Little (may not be here after 2 years)

Will Grier (may not be here after 2 years)

2020 think we all agree that this was Rhule calling the shots after the 1st rd

I gotta admit that I am a bit surprised he hasn't even got a look at guard in an attempt to salvage him as a player.  I'm not saying he'd be good, just surprised that we didn't even try.

He may have during practice and just been even worse.

biggest example of this is when hurney very nearly traded a future first round pick for Jimmy Clausen

That pick? Cam Newton

You & me both. Perhaps he's landed in Rhule's doghouse (for sucking).
