Way more people need to be called out for their faux embrace of Teddy Bridgewater. It was pathetic seeing the same old idiots act as if they really liked him just to try to cover up their hatred for Cam. Unlike Cam haters, who prayed on his downfall at every turn, I never prayed on Teddy's downfall. I've always known that Teddy was a horrible replacement and wouldn't get this team anywhere.

Lastly, before you haters try to come at me, I know it's over for Cam.

Cam is my favourite Panther of all time.  He was injury prone in 2019 and someone had to take over.  It’s not wrong to admit that their favourite player is no longer the same, it’s actually the right thing.

precious little baby kyle:

12 games, 3322 yards @ 62% completion, 17 TD, 16 INT, 1 game-winning drive

teddy shitwater:

12 games, 3102 yards @ 72% completion,  14 TD, 8 INT, 0 game-winning drives

by god will you look at that. all the dipshits cheering for baby goat do do do do do do in the gameday threads last fall yanked the ripcord on the great white hope as soon as he sucked ass and got really excited when a black quarterback with no personality showed up so they could pretend their hatred of cam had nothing to do with prejudice and that it's just they preferred rooting for likable quarterbacks with low, safe ceilings who'll always just get 'em next year.

and now it turns out they got a quarterback worse than kyle buttfucking allen. in the same number of games, with years more experience, teddy bridgewater has fewer touchdowns and fewer game winning drives than kyle buttassfucking allen. bridgewater's improved efficiency only means he's been marginally more careful in how he loses games.

all you whiny tittiesuckers from last year didn't learn a single goddamn thing and this is the second year in a row you've been caping for a Very Bad Quarterback until the very end when it's obvious he's irredeemably awful. a lot of us were evenly pointing out warning signs for both guys, both years, only to get run over by hype trains that both eventually got derailed and ended up as two of the worst offensive seasons in franchise history.

and i'm not even mad at any of you. cam is done and we all recognize he probably wouldn't have been much better this year, it's just a bitter pill that his detractors got what they wanted AND get a pass for full-throatedly backing his jaw-droppingly awful replacements. in fact i mostly am just mad at teddy bridgewater and i want @ecu88 and @Snake and that ickmule guy to admit their opinions clinically qualify them as medical vegetables and quit this place forthwith.

If this is going to be one of those White men can't jump threads you are missing the boat with Allen.........

Why not take the poster child of that and compare him to Bridgewater?

..........our loving friend and inspiration of QB play for all Panther fans...

One............Jimmy Clausen.........

Trust me.......you will feel even better when you make that comparison.

You know what though? Cam would actually be better on this team than Bridgewater. We’d have a few more wins.

We still wouldn’t be a good team but it would have been a better move all around. Save 60 million on a phantom QB, and give Cam the last chance he really deserved here. Better PR for the team and fans too.

Cam would have absolutely been better than Teddy on this team. There is no question. To the argument “look what he’s done in NE, he’s finished”, have you actually watching him play this year?  He’s not Cam of old, there is a noticeable decline, but he’s not been near as bad as his stats look or half as bad as teddy. I would argue that with this team’s weapons, and already having familiarity with his teammates, and possibly not having the Rona issue that made him miss games and more practice to learn the system, Cam would have been significantly better. He’s playing on the worst roster in the league and still has more wins than us. Hell, factor in some butterfly effect poo and maybe CMC doesn’t get hurt because of how differently the second game would have gone with Cam. With Cam and CMC not getting injured we probably would have been a playoff team.

And I still say if Cam did get hurt for us this year if he had stayed, then that puts us in position to draft a QB. Kinda like when they signed the equivalent of injured 2019 Cam in Bridgewater to replace him.

Amen. I was typing up the same sentiment as you posted this lol

I think Bridgewater sucks as much as everyone here but I will say Kyle Allen had CMC healthy for an entire season. Teddys stats and maybe even wins would look better if he had the same benefit.

Either way I think we would have been better off keeping Allen on a tiny salary vs Bridgewater and his large one. The guys are basically the same QB, Allen is just younger, cheaper, and honestly I felt like he had more potential

And we'd be out of the running for one of the top 4 QBs with yet another season of mediocrity. They made the right decision at the time. It's really easy to be critical with hindsight.

Healthy CMC but half the receiver corps (counting Samuel as 0.5 since the staff didn't use him effectively).

It absolutely wasn’t and a number of us were screaming it at the time. With Cam we either A) wouldn’t be mediocre cuz Cam would be healthy or B) would be in the running for a QB cuz Cam got injured. Signing Bridgewater was the WORST possible decision because it guaranteed we’d be mediocre with no shot at a QB. Thankfully it seems we overestimated Teddy’s talent and he’s every bit of bad enough to get us a QB like Clausen did.

Again, you're using hindsight. You may have guessed right about TB, but it wasn't "guaranteed" we'd be mediocre with him. And btw, we're aren't. We're worse than that, which puts us in the running for a decent QB prospect. Just because you occasionally guess right doesn't make you smarter than Rhule & Co., it just makes you another Dunning Kruger fan.

Don't get me started on the ridiculous false dichotomy you claim about Cam.
