Wrong.  His contact is easy to get out of after next year.  Still in a good spot for one of Wilson,  Fields, Lance. Not every team ahead of us is taking a QB.

We should definitely not draft a QB in the draft this year.  The draft is rich in talent at spots we are thin.  Build the o-line, get lb’s, gets safety so can move on from Boston.  Same for interior d-line so we can move on from short.  
 

2022 draft will have QB talent as well like Sam Howell.

I agree but another year with Teddy and no young future QB will really cause fans to lose hope including myself. I can see us trading up if we really like a QB and believe that they will be gone by #9

Once you are out of the playoffs and already one of the worst teams, priority should switch to maximizing your draft stock. 

Esp if you are a new coach with a long term deal and the owner signs off on it. 

You don't forfiet games, but you play your backup QBs and make dumb play calls to help you lose.

There’s no way we’re picking 1st next year, that’s the thing. The teams growing, obviously. Win or lose today, we were growing. We potentially just lost the chance take someone that could turn the franchise into a scary one. Right now, at best, we look like we’ll be locked into mediocrity.
