I’m not a huge fan of Lance because he seems more boom or bust than most QBs in this class but I’d absolutely take him in a heartbeat over Jones, Trask, Newman or Mond.

Josh Allen was boom or bust, many at the time felt similar about Mahomes (10th overall), you can't hit a homerun if you don't swing the bat!

Give me potential and upside with + athleticism, and let the coaches do what they are paid millions to do!

I am starting to question if we're high on any rookie QB period after they just offered Detroit the farm for Stafford

Our 1st, and a day 2 or 3 pick is not the farm. I wasn't a fan of that, but it's hard to argue he wouldn't be better THIS year than who we would get at 8 if a QB.

I wouldn't call it "the farm." The projected Watson deals are "the farm."

I think it has more to do with the fact that you have an elite, known quantity versus a bunch of unknowns.

It is entirely possible that our scouting on the guys in our potential range(Fields, Wilson, Lance) may not be be as glowing as the media's or the fans.

It is also entirely possible they know it is likely the trade market to move up to secure one of those guys may be very aggressive and very expensive.

Hard to say what the complete story is.

Yeah, the Stafford deal definitely wasn't "the farm".

It didn't even include the kitchen sink.

they offered a top 10 pick, and then some, for a Quarterback on the back end of his career

I am sorry the trivialities of the expression bother you but that is a haul

Well, I can't help that you have a bad take on this or don't understand that phrase.

I guess good luck with that.

I'm not a big Stafford fan, but even I can acknowledge that the back end of his career looks better than some guys' entire resumés.

    • Cmon dude... you've been a moderator for years... You really don't remember the discourse around here in 2017??  CMC was hated by many, many people.  Especially after the season Kamara had.   Anyone who doesn't seem massive parallels between that CMC/Kamara debate vs. the BY/CJS debate is lying or misremembering IMHO. And to your 2nd point, Bryce doesn't deserve another season?  So, the book wasn't written on CMC after 1 season, but it is on Bryce? My avatar is of Cam and will always be.  No one will ever take his place for me, but it's insane the number of people activity rooting against this team (and then talking trash to those of us supporting them). Man, I'll take my next month hiatus from this place, but I'm simply astonished at the revisionist history. I miss being able to have even remotely objective discussions on this board.  People getting dragged by trolls every single time they try to post anything is exhausting... BTW @CRA, appreciate the warning.  I'll see myself out, just like SCP and all the other posters worth a crap who got tired of this cesspool always favoring the poo-slingers... This board allows clowns to troll all day long anyone trying to have reasonable discourse with zero repercussion, but if you push back against this depressing and inane s-show and all the nonsense takes, then it's no good...
    • I think you have a misunderstanding of my position. It doesn't bother me at all to say Bryce played like dogshit last season, because it's true. However, I am willing to let this season play out before I'm ready to say that he can't make it in the NFL. I agree with your take that we'll know better after the first couple of preseason games what we're in for this season. My response was just in amusement at how you came in here holier than thou about others derailing threads by dunking on others' QB opinions, when you're pretty well known for taking exception to any opinion on Bryce that offers any optimism at all.
