Draft Cornbread

Dude, I can always go for some Cornbread. Oh, you mean the player, nicknamed Cornbread. Oh hell yeah! And if you really want it to be a Carolina O-line you draft a guy nicknamed Pinto Beans to work alongside him.

Seriously, though. Deonte Brown would be a great pick-up for us.

They said he struggled at the SR Bowl--disappointed during drills--so did Norwell---so maybe his stock dropped.

Grab him in the sixth then or whenever it seems like his time is now.

Honestly, he looks the part. But also, he was part of a national championship o-line that kept a non-mobile QB clean and gave him time to stretch the field with great receivers. It could be he worked better with his regular teammates than he did with some folks he just met, running new plays and using different terminologies. Something tells me you get him on a good team and bring him along at guard, you can get way more than your money's worth.

No sacks allowed in three seasons at Alabama. That's on a top end (championship team) for three years against the best competition in the college. Heck, the SEC is just about a pro league as it is.

He looked bad at the Senior Bowl. Gotta remember, he was protected at Alabama playing between a likely 1st round LT and the Rimington winner at center. When he got left on an island at the Senior Bowl he got wrecked by quickness.

People forget that while looking the part in college is great, in the NFL you are going to be dealing with some elite athletes that you will have to handle one on one. Alabama is so talented they just line up and beat you with overwhelming talent. That ain't happening in the NFL.

All over the place. I'd seen as high as the upper to mid-2nd round and as low as the 4th-5th round. After the Senior Bowl, I expect the latter to be more accurate.

Good, a 4th or 5th round for a possible starting guard would be a bargain, even if he needs to be coached up a bit, he still was part of a winning o-line.

OL island play for OG is rare, so dont rush judge this mountain. Id still be open for a late round flyer on this guy, fyi panthers need ALLLLLLLL the help at OL....UNLESS they trade for Watson, he can block 4-5 guys and throw TD bombs to Moore/anderson!! Huddle hold me so!

    • And even worse you have injuries force you to play anther one dimensional train wreck combine that with Orlov being no were close to as advertised and boom you have 3 defensemen being dressed who couldn't defend my 96 year old grandmother. That said next year having Slavin,Miller,Nikishin,Chatfield gives you the best shutdown d man in the league two large athletic HIGH offensive potential D who can take away time and space....   The more I think about it the more I like this seasons approach, if you bring back burns or aquire anther large RHS with length you have 5 D all over 6'2 and 210 with three of them having great offense too, make no mistake they want size and skill on the blue line now and its almost 100% directed at getting past FL.
    • Honestly the 2024 draft class(minus brooks). All are in line to be starters, expect crumedy who's fighting for a 53.  Still that class was looking terrible, is now looking like 4 starters and maybe 1 depth. Anytime you draft 2 starters and a key depth piece its a good draft. 4 starters are rare and that's with brooks who could have made 5 starters if not for awful luck.  That draft also helped land starter Michael Jackson in a round about way, big bonus..
    • Officially heading to the Jags game week one!  Section 240, visitors side just outside the club section.
