I’m gonna guess that defense didn’t work in court

They didn't have a case against me. I pled down to misdemeanor receiving and did two years of probation.

Edit: Not that it matters but everything I typed in that original thread was true. It turns out that someone had been mailing packages to vacant addresses all over Brunswick co. and having someone pick them up presumably. They must have just got the address wrong for the package to my house or just had really old info as I had only been renting there for like two months. Either way, the only reason the charges stuck even a little bit was because I had felony charges related to weed prior.

I'm old enough to remember the Carolina Growl days...

And yes, while the discourse here sucks sometimes, this board definitely isn't as hostile as in the past.

I can remember "Fire Hurney" threads as early as 2006. Who knew then we were going to get 15 years worth of those threads?

I'm willing to bet if some analysis was done, threads calling for Hurney's dismissal constitute the most popular threads in the illustrious history of the Huddle

I've been here for probably 14 of those years between my old account and this one. Miss a lot of the old school Huddlers and the craziness that used to happen on here. My favorite threads were PhillyB and SCP going in on Fat Alice and and "pink flaps"

Also miss lovely ladies.

the flaming cam stans cleared this place out for the first couple years...have to admit it was unbearable for a while

Yup. I actually find the board quite enjoyable at the moment.

Another name I thought of--Dpantherman

He would volume post more than Chuck and Scot combined.

Was this when that thread about the guy talking about a date or something like that and he mentioned he kissed her forehead and the huddle proceeded to make a meme out of it?

No, Alejandro Lastra was a Saints fan dubbed Fat Alice who posted here for a while and Philly ended up doxing him and it was a running joke for a while. He disappeared for good not long after the conclusion of bounty gate and that whole hilarious exchange.

The forehead kisses/pink flaps was from E-Cat the conspiracy theorist middle eastern rapper from california who liked to drop F bombs in his songs.

    • He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9.  If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management.  Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand.  He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC.
    • zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him.  I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc  I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious
    • Ran across this bit of fun. As seen on https://www.thesportinggent.com/blogs/dispatches/front-porch-musings-field-ethos-journal (a blog for outdoors gear and clothing)
