Pretty confident we could get Trey Lance at 8 already. Yep he is raw but he could have the highest ceiling of all of our coaching staff is up to par and able to develop him. I say stay put and go after Lance to save draft picks.

OK, Jax going QB.  NY Jets likely to go QB.  Miami could go QB, but if not, they are getting trade offers.  Atlanta?  Possibly going QB.  Detroit?  Philly?  Either or both could take a QB.  This is an unusual year for QBs---I have never seen the market for them like it is--when free agency ends, that could be much different, but for now, I am not confident about a QB at 8.

Trade ups?  Dallas (maybe), SF (probably) Washington (who knows?) New England (probably), Denver (they are in the market)---at this time, I do not feel confident that a QB would be there at #8.

You said it, the QB market has never been so crazy as the year.  I think there is a very slim chance one of the top 4 drop to the 8th pick.  Heck, I think there is a better chance QB's go the first 4 picks than one falling to pick 8

If you want one of them, be prepared to give up picks to move up for one, and the bidding is going to be competitive.

Pair this with the fact that the Panthers have said publicly that the Panthers would be in on any QB deal (which this is) and you can safely assume we are trying to move up.

Ironically, we are going to trade a ton to move up to the position where we would have been if we just lost to Washington.

It’s gonna be really ironic if Rhule ends up making a massive trade to move up that he’s tied to the rest of his tenure here...and if it fails he’ll likely lose his job. When instead he could have decreased his odds of catastrophic failure by losing a meaningless game....where failure would still end up in firing. But the assets he’d have otherwise would dramatically increase his chance for success.

Meh... go big or go home. The guy already has generational wealth. Trust yourself and your people to make the right call. One of the big reasons why the Panthers are a ringless organization is due to historical organizational risk aversion. When given a choice, we have historically almost always chosen the safest path available. We've historically been Teddy Bridgewater. Ron Rivera. John Fox. Though the later two better capture our overall essence. Good enough to have brushes with greatness, too conservative to capture the prize.

If Zach Wilson ends up going #2, most if not all of those phones calls are gonna turn into...

I've said before I think Miami would be wise to hang on to the #3 pick up until draft time just in case the Texans change their minds.

It might also be wise for a trade partner to hold off until they see what happens at #2.

I don't think anyone is trading for #3 before they know for sure who's going to be there.

I wouldn't.

If a team has interest in more than one of the available quarterbacks though, I could see pressing ahead with it.

Probably still wiser for Miami to hang on to it though.

He will be gone before draft count on it

There are ways to do things   He would have been within his role to see what he had on his bench to make decisions in the future but you start the game that way.

again, the long view of the franchise is far more important than a meaningless game in a lost season

I would say getting  his best players in the best position to succeed is the best for the long run. The Patriots won their last “meaningless” game of the season against the Jets. They started Newton and the players that put them in the best position to win. Our team was on another losing streak and I think that win was great for our young guys. It’s how you get then to buy in to your coaching philosophy. Most coaches care more about winning than draft positioning and it makes the game so much better because of it. Can you imagine watching half of the teams throw in the towel the last 4-5 games of a season?

Everyone on here loved the Grier pick for some reason (shocker) and now they’re saying it would be absurd to give him a shot in a real game over a known scrub like teddy. How does that make any sense? Spent a 3rd round pick on the dude, team would’ve been very justified starting him over teddy. If we lost vs the skins we’d be set up so well for the future

Personally, I would trade back, get an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder from the trade, and go all offensive line, and either safety or linebacker, depending on how the FA market shapes up for those two positions. I feel like with another solid draft like last year's, we could solidify the line, replace at least one of the glaring weaknesses on defense and be in a much better position to mortgage the farm and trade all our 2022 and maybe some 2023 picks for a QB like Howell.

Not being able to pick in the first two rounds for the next 2-3 years would sting a lot less if we already had a solid offensive line, with integral pieces on rookie contracts and a year to gel under their belts.

I don't want what happened with Cam to happen to another elite QB.

Yep. And there are soooo many linemen that look like legitimate nfl starters. I think this is the year your grab 5 guys for the line. Add a late round QB. They all get a year to learn, mesh, bond. Next year, coaches should have an idea on whether they hit on those picks or if anyone needs replaced. And then, If we bring in a rookie, he’s got an entire line with experience together.

    • Clean ACLs really are not. He is already running on it. There are more complicated injuries where ACLs tear with other things that can cause more serious injuries. I think that’s where the confusion comes in.
    • Try to reduce the amount of soda that you consume on a daily basis. Soda is packed with sugars and carbohydrates, which can cause cause a poor reaction with your skin. Instead of soda, try drinking water or flavored water as an alternative to your meals during the day or night. Try using some kind of mist moisturizer instead of just using plain water. Plain water only hydrates your skin for a short while and will end up drying out your skin. Moisturizing your skin with a mist form of it is a lot easier to apply then a topical cream. Finding the right product for your skin type is a very important factor in making your skin look nice and healthy. If you have dry skin, you would not want to use products that were designed for oily skin. Make sure you research what the products you use are for, and your skin will thank you for it. After you take a shower or a bath or just wash your face, pat dry with a soft towel. Vigorous rubbing will damage the skin. In addition, leaving a little bit of water on your skin will help keep it from drying out and make it easier to apply an after-shower moisturizer.
