Would you trade for Russell Wilson if it's a better deal than trying for Watson?

I think we have a better chance at Watson that Wilson...

Both teams have repeatedly said "not a chance in hell".

A lot of folks believe the Texans will eventually change their minds, but pretty much nobody thinks the Seahawks will.

I think because Watson sounds much more definitive about being done than Wilson does.

Wilson hasn't really said anything on that scale. He's let the speculation linger out there though. He seems like he's posturing more than anything else. But, you never know. TB12's move and success with the Bucs probably got a lot of the 30+-year-old signal caller's minds to thinking.

This is purely, 100% emotional, but I genuinely find Wilson repulsive on a personal level and don’t want him on the Panthers.

Me too.. I just can't put my finger on why.  He just seems so ...so...

As a person he seems like a good dude.  Does a lot of charity work. good family man etc..

But I don't like him... that about it.

I'm going to try and answer this objectively.

Given the parameters of your structured inquiry. I would have to say yes. If it costs less than Watson, age be damned. Depending on the cost, the value is high for Wilson and with this offense, if CMC, WR corp is kept in this scenario. Yes. I would absolutely want Wilson for a lesser cost than Watson.

If you're talking about a 1st and a second next year. Yes. Does not break the bank and he would still theoretically be available at least 5 years. Not selling the farm for him, with at least 4 years to build around him. But given the fact that this defense is young and the offense is not as bad as some may think, Wilson would turn this franchise around. If we are talking about 3 1st, then no..I do not want him.

    • One of the best in the league. Would instantly be our best offensive player. At what cost? Two firsts plus Svech and nadeau or some combo.  It won’t be cheap.
    • Garbage stats? So he threw for 250 yards and 3 TDs in garbage time only? Well if that's the case then the worst teams should lead the NFL in passing every year. Geez. Slow start? Heck yes. Horrible start actually. But that doesn't take away from how he finished. A defense might give you one drive to close the gap, but they ain't giving you 3.
    • I agree. The Panthers should have never traded for a QB. They should have stayed with Newton, Allen, Heinicke, and Bridgewater until they found a QB that could prove they were better than them. Could have gotten some QBs in the late rounds over the past 5 seasons to mix in that competition as the underperformers are moved to the back of the line. Then you add in the QBs that are tossed until one of them performs and holds on to the position. Meanwhile, the defense, OL & skill position players would all be ready for that QB that performs consistently above the set standards. Wait for a pedigree QB to trade up for if you haven't found your franchise QB. You'd have a team that's ready for them. Darnold, Mayfield & Young were not pedigree QBs
